    • Collects seventh save
Bednar gave up a run on two hits in the ninth inning Saturday to record his seventh save of the season in a 10-9 win over the Cubs.

Advice: The right-hander made things interesting, giving up back-to-back hits to begin the ninth and allowing the tying run to get to third base with two outs, but Bednar escaped the jam. He's converted his last six save chances but has been very volatile while doing it, getting tagged for runs in five of 11 appearances over that stretch while posting an 8.38 ERA and 12:3 K:BB through 9.2 innings. Bednar still has a grip on the Pirates' closer role, but it may not be a firm one. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:31 pm
    • Nabs win in extras
Kimbrel (4-1) picked up the win in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings victory over the Diamondbacks, striking out one in a scoreless 11th inning.

Advice: He did hit Christian Walker with his first pitch of the frame, but Kimbrel quickly escaped the jam by fanning Jake McCarthy and then inducing a double play grounder from Eugenio Suarez. The veteran relievers then got rewarded when Jordan Westburg walked it off in the bottom of the inning. Yennier Cano worked the ninth inning at home in a tie game -- usage normally reserved for a team's closer -- while Danny Coulombe handled the 10th, so Kimbrel may not be back in the top spot in the O's bullpen just yet, but efforts like this should help him get there. • Four hits in comeback win
Guerrero went 4-for-5 with a run scored, three RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 10-8 win over the Twins.

Advice: The first baseman banged out singles in each of his first four plate appearances, with the last one bringing home two runs in the sixth inning to tie the game at 8-8 after the Blue Jays had fallen behind 7-1 in the top of the third. Guerrero has four multi-hit performances in the last five games, a stretch in which he's gone 11-for-21 (.524) with a homer and eight RBI. The surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .272/.360/.391, as he continues to look for his power stroke. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:47 pm

    • David Bednar allows run, still picks up save
David Bednar picked up a save despite allowing a run against the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: Bednar continues to pitch at a shaky level, but at least he was able to procure a save; his seventh of the season. The run allowed sees his ERA still sit at an unhealthy 9.64, and fantasy managers have a right to be a little discouraged by how Bednar has pitched over this first month-plus of the season. • Homers, plates four
Arozarena went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's victory over the Yankees.

Advice: Arozarena made a baserunning blunder following a walk in the first inning when he overslid the second base bag while trying to advance on a flyout. He immediately made up for it in his next plate appearance with an opposite-field, three-run homer. Arozarena later doubled in another run and scored again to cap off a big night. While Arozarena has still been striking out too much this month (30.8 percent), he now has four home runs in his first nine May contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:20 pm

    • Three hits, homer in win
Diaz went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's win over the Yankees.

Advice: Diaz jumped on Nestor Cortes' first pitch of the bottom of the first inning, sending it over the left-field wall for his second long ball of the season. He didn't stop there, doubling twice (with one of them plating another run) and finishing with three runs scored. Diaz already has five multi-hit games this month, elevating his average from .220 to .250. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:03 pm

    • Randy Arozarena homers, plates four to lead Rays
Randy Arozarena homered and drove in four runs on Saturday, leading the Rays to a 7-2 victory over the Yankees in Tampa Bay.

Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder clobbered a 385-foot (102.5 mph EV) three-run shot off of Nestor Cortes in the third inning, giving the Rays a 4-2 lead that they would never relinquish. He also added a run-scoring double in the seventh inning and scored on a sacrifice fly by Isaac Paredes. The 29-year-old outfielder finished the afternoon 2-for-3 plus a walk, raising his season-slash to a still horrifying .154/.253/.329 to go along with seven homers, 17 RBI and six stolen bases. • Yandy Díaz clubs leadoff home run on Saturday
Yandy Díaz clubbed a leadoff home run on Saturday, helping to propel the Rays to victory over the Yankees.

Advice: Díaz jumped on the very first pitch that Nestor Cortes threw on Saturday, crushing a 401-foot (100.4 mph EV) solo shot over the wall in left-center. He also smacked an RBI double in the seventh inning and scored on a double off the bat of Randy Arozarena. Díaz finished the day 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored. On the season, he’s now slashing .250/.310/.340 with a pair of long balls and 18 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:28 pm

    • Anthony Volpe plates two runs in loss to Rays
Anthony Volpe went 3-for-4 and drove in both of the Yankees’ runs in Saturday’s loss to the Rays.

Advice: Volpe smacked a two-run single off of Zack Littell in the second inning that gave the Yankees a 2-1 advantage. That would wind up being the extent of their offensive output though. He also singled with two outs in the fifth inning and swiped second base, but the Yankees couldn’t cash him in. Volpe got his third knock off of Jason Adam in the seventh. With his three-hit attack, the 23-year-old shortstop is now hitting .268/.354/.408 with five homers, 20 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:27 pm
