    • Blows save, takes loss
Estevez (0-2) blew the save and took the loss Friday against Kansas City. He allowed two runs on three hits and no walks with one strikeout over one inning.

Advice: Estevez allowed a lead-taking, two-run homer to Adam Frazier in the ninth inning to blow his third save on the year. Oddly, the Angels closer has yet to walk a batter this season, but he has allowed three homers over 11.2 innings, leading to a 6.17 ERA. Despite the ugly ERA, Estevez remains securely planted in the Angels closer seat. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago

    • Willy Adames doubles three times versus Cards
Willy Adames doubled three times and knocked in two runs Friday versus the Cardinals.

Advice: Not only is Adames exceeding expectations with his .265/.351/.476 line, but his seven steals are just one off his career high. Last year, he was 5-for-8 stealing bases in 149 games. This year, he’s 7-for-8 in 38 games. We wouldn’t expect him to keep that up, but it’s hard not to view him as a top-10 shortstop at this point. Rotoworld Today, 9:38 pm

    • Picks up 12th save
Holmes earned the save in Friday's 2-0 win over the Rays, working around a hit and two walks while striking out three in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: The Rays loaded the bases against Holmes in the ninth before the right-hander struck out Jonny DeLuca for the final out. Holmes has yet to allow an earned run this year, pitching to a 1.04 WHIP with 21:3 K:BB over 17.1 innings. He's up to 12 saves, tied with Kyle Finnegan and Robert Suarez for the league lead. • Jo Adell connects on solo homer in loss to Royals
Jo Adell hit a solo homer in a loss Friday to the Angels.

Advice: Adell’s solo shot off Alec Marsh was the only run for the Angels on the night. It looked like it was going to be enough to give the team a win, but Carlos Estévez blew a save to keep that from happening. Adell is now slugging .529 with six homers, and he’s showing — in spurts — the talent that made him one of the very best prospects in all of baseball not that long ago. Rotoworld Today, 9:18 pm

    • Carlos Estévez blows save, takes loss vs. Royals
Carlos Estévez allowed two runs in an inning of work while blowing a save Friday against the Royals and also picking up a loss.

Advice: This is already the third blown save of the season for the right-hander. He gave up a two-run homer to Adam Frazier of all people, and that turned a 1-0 lead for the Angels into a 2-1 score and ultimately a loss. Estévez is going to get the overwhelming majority of save chances for the Angels, but he’s a middling option at best with just so-so results and a very bad baseball team to give him those chances. • Stumbles in loss
Carrasco (2-3) yielded five runs (three earned) on six hits over seven innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against the White Sox.

Advice: Carrasco held the White Sox off the board until they scored three runs in the fifth inning, though two of those were unearned. He then served up back-to-back solo homers to Korey Lee and Paul DeJong in the seventh. Carrasco didn't allow a home run through his first four starts but has now been taken deep seven times in his last four outings. He's sporting a 5.36 ERA with a 31:17 K:BB through 40.1 innings this season. Carrasco's next start is lined up to be in Texas next week. Rotowire.com Today, 9:08 pm
    • Laces three doubles
Adames went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's victory over St. Louis.

Advice: Adames managed to collect all three of his doubles from different Cardinals pitchers, hitting one each off Lance Lynn, Matthew Liberatore and Kyle Leahy. With his effort Friday night, the Brewers shortstop reached double-digit two-baggers, sporting 10 doubles on the season. Overall, Adames is hitting .265/.351/.476 with seven home runs, 23 runs scored and 27 RBI over 168 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 9:00 pm

    • Tanner Houck gives up three runs in loss to Nats
Tanner Houck dropped to 3-4 after surrendering three runs in seven innings Friday against the Nationals.

Advice: It’s absurd that Houck should have a sub-.500 record with a 2.24 ERA, but the Red Sox have totaled four runs in his four losses. This was not Houck at his best tonight; he gave up 11 hard-hit balls and settled for four strikeouts. He’ll face the Rays next. Rotoworld Today, 7:19 pm

    • Griffin Jax earns fifth save for Twins
Griffin Jax recorded his fifth save despite giving up a run in the ninth to the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: The Twins again opted to give Jhoan Duran what looked like the tougher assignment in the eighth. Jax came in with a two-run lead in the ninth and allowed a walk and two singles before finishing off the Blue Jays. He’s going to retain some value in deeper mixed leagues if the Twins keep using Duran like this. Rotoworld Today, 6:58 pm
