    • Receives day off
Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: After starting behind the plate Friday and Saturday, Smith will get a breather as the Dodgers wrap up their series in Canada with a day game. Austin Barnes will handle catching duties for the Dodgers on Sunday. Rotowire.com Today, 8:13 am

    • Career-high 12 strikeouts
Kirby (3-2) earned the win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday, hurling seven shutout innings while allowing two hits and two walks. He struck out 12.

Advice: Kirby wasn't playing around Saturday, fanning six of the first eight batters he faced en route to recording a career-high 12 strikeouts on the night. The right-hander has now hurled 12 shutout innings over his last two starts while Saturday also marked the second time this season in which he's allowed only two hits. Kirby carries a 30:2 K:BB through five starts this month and has won his last two decisions. Rotowire.com Today, 7:01 am

    • Slugs first homer
Hayes went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's win over the Giants.

Advice: Hayes jumped on a hanging sweeper from Tyler Rogers in the top of the 10th and sent it into the stands for his first home run of the season, going back-to-back with Bryan Reynolds as the Pirates took care of the Giants in extra innings. The third baseman has now registered two hits in back-to-back games and in three of his last six overall, batting .333 (8-for-24) over that stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 5:55 am
    • George Kirby strikes out career-high 12 vs. D-backs
George Kirby recorded a career-high 12 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Saturday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Kirby authored arguably the most dominant performance of his career in this one, generating an eye-popping 23 swinging strikes -- including a staggering 18 whiffs on his four-seam fastball alone -- and finished with an elite 39 percent CSW. His fastball velocity was up 1.2 mph in this one from earlier this year to 96.4 mph and he gave up only three batted balls with an exit velocity over 91 mph over seven nearly-flawless frames. The 26-year-old righty has clearly shaken off a couple rough outings to open the year and has allowed just two runs over 18 innings in his last three starts since April 15. He’ll carry a respectable 4.18 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 38/4 K/BB ratio across 32 2/3 innings (six starts) into a challenging road tilt on Friday against the division-rival Astros. • Labors through 4.1 innings
Cabrera (1-1) took the loss Saturday versus the Nationals, yielding six runs (five earned) on four hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Cabrera cruised through the first two frames, striking out three while allowing just one runner to reach base. It was a struggle after that, though, with the big blow coming in the fifth inning when Jesse Winker walloped a grand slam. Cabrera twirled a gem in his first start earlier this month, but his second outing wasn't great and this one was worse. Further inconsistency should be expected. • Permits one run over four frames
Parker took a no-decision in Saturday's win over the Marlins, permitting one run on six hits and two walks over four innings.

Advice: The Marlins made Parker work, particularly in the first inning when he gave up two singles, walked two and allowed a run on a wild pitch. He needed 82 pitches to cover his four frames, ultimately costing him what would have been an easy win. It was easily Parker's least impressive of his three starts so far in the majors, but he did still manage to give up just the one run. The lefty's next start is tentatively slated to come on the road versus the Rangers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:04 pm
    • Shuts down champs for first win
Greene (1-2) picked up the win in Saturday's 8-4 victory over the Rangers, allowing only one hit and one walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out six.

Advice: The Reds' bullpen made things a little more interesting, but Greene was in total control while he was on the mound, firing 63 of 98 pitches for strikes and letting only one runner even get to third base. The right-hander has two quality starts through his first six outings this season, and he'll take a 3.63 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 42:12 K:BB through 34.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Orioles. • Sonny Gray strikes out nine in win over Mets
Sonny Gray allowed four runs -- one earned -- with nine strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: Gray had worked through four scoreless innings before Brandon Nimmo drove in two on a base hit in the fifth. Pete Alonso followed with a two-run homer to make it four runs in the frame. Though, only one run was charged as an earned run to Gray after an error allowed the leadoff man to reach. The 34-year-old right-hander induced 15 whiffs to strike out nine batters. He’ll take an excellent 1.16 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and a 32/4 K/BB ratio across 23 1/3 innings into a start against the White Sox in St. Louis on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:34 pm
