• Jazz Chisolm Jr. provides only runs in loss to Nats
Jazz Chisolm Jr. went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in a loss to the Nationals on Monday.

Advice: Déjà vu. Jazz has homered in back-to-back games. The 26-year-old got Miami on the board in the sixth inning when he took Jake Irvin’s fastball 414 feet to deep center field. Chisolm got off to a slow start this season, where he saw his batting average as low as .130 seven games into the season. However, he’s been able to create contact and get on base bringing his batting line to .248/.342/.410 with four homers and 17 RBI. Rotoworld Today, 6:06 pm

  • CJ Abrams blasts two-run homer in win versus MIA
CJ Abrams went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and two walks in a 7-2 win against the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: The 23-year-old continues to have a solid season slashing .300/.381/.640 with seven home runs and 16 RBI. His two-run home run came in the third inning as Trevor Rogers left a fastball right down the center of the plate and Abrams did not miss. There was a lot of discussion if Abrams’ 2023 season was a bit of beginner’s luck, but the Nats’ shortstop is showing that last season was not a one-off. Rotoworld Today, 6:06 pm

  • Diagnosed with thumb sprain
Anderson suffered a mild left thumb sprain during Monday's game against the Nationals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Anderson will be considered day-to-day moving forward. Vidal Brujan would be in line for more playing time at shortstop if Anderson needs a few days off to recover. Rotowire.com Today, 5:09 pm

  • Not cleared for baseball activities
Heyward (back) has not yet been cleared to resume baseball activities, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: The Dodgers' last update on Heyward was that he was still experiencing soreness in his back, and it doesn't sound as though he's progressed much over the last week. Considering Hayward hasn't seen any game action since April 1, he'll likely need a considerable amount of time to ramp up once cleared. A timetable for his return should begin to come into focus once he can resume baseball drills. Rotowire.com Today, 5:01 pm

  • Heyward (back) still not cleared for activities
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters before Monday’s game that Jason Heyward still hasn’t been cleared for baseball activities.

Advice: To be more specific, Roberts said that he “doesn’t believe” Heyward has been cleared for activities, which is a little weird. Heyward will certainly need a rehab assignment before he’s ready to play, but that assignment may not come until next week at the earliest. There’s a good chance he’s not back with the Dodgers until closer to the end of May than the beginning. Rotoworld Today, 4:59 pm

  • Tim Anderson leaves with left thumb sprain
Tim Anderson left Monday’s game against the Nationals with a left thumb sprain.

Advice: Anderson collided with Alex Call on a tag and looked to be in a significant amount of pain. The Marlins are calling Anderson day-to-day, but don’t be surprised if the 31-year-old misses at least a game while he recovers. Rotoworld Today, 4:49 pm

  • Progressing through running program
Andujar (knee) is expected to run the bases Saturday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: This is another step in the right direction for Andujar, who was cleared to begin a running program April 23. If he's able to work out Saturday without issue, he'll likely be sent out on a rehab assignment in the near future. Rotowire.com Today, 4:48 pm

  • Will continue rehab stint
Davis (thigh) will remain on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas at least until Thursday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Davis got through Sunday's rehab appearance at Triple-A Las Vegas without issue, but the club evidently wants to see him get a few more chances in the minors before activating him from the 10-day IL. He served as the DH on Sunday, so he'll likely see some opportunities in the field later in the week to ensure he's back to full strength. Rotowire.com Today, 4:42 pm

  • Shut down from activity
Gelof (oblique) is currently shut down from baseball activity, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gelof was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a strained left oblique, but he appears to be on track to miss more than the minimum amount of days. The 24-year-old will likely need to ramp his activity over a series of days before he could ultimately be activated. In the meantime, Max Schuemann will likely continue to handle the lion's share of work at second base with Oakland in Gelof's absence. Rotowire.com Today, 4:41 pm
