• Marcus Stroman beats Braves to improve to 7-3
Marcus Stroman picked up his seventh victory of the season on Saturday night, limiting the Braves to three runs on just three hits over his 6 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: Stroman piled up six strikeouts on the evening while issuing a pair of walks. The 33-year-old hurler had allowed just one run through his first six innings of work, but he returned for the seventh where he served up a two-run blast to Travis d’Arnaud before exiting. Stroman got 12 swings and misses on 93 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 27 percent. Now 7-3 on the season, he’ll tote a 3.15 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and a 67/40 K/BB ratio (91 1/3 innings) into Friday’s battle against the Blue Jays in Toronto. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:24 pm
  • Homers, drives in two in win
Morel went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Mets.

Advice: Morel hit an RBI single in the first inning and crushed a 446-foot solo home run in the third. Morel's .209 average so far in June is actually his highest in any month this season, and the homer was his fourth in 19 June games. The 24-year-old is batting just .202 to date but does have 14 home runs and 43 RBI over 267 at-bats in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:43 pm

  • David Bednar (side) was unavailable on Saturday
Pirates’ manager Derek Shelton told reporters after Saturday’s victory that David Bednar was unavailable due to tightness in his left side.

Advice: It was surprising to see Aroldis Chapman close out a one-run victory for the Pirates against the Rays instead of Bednar, and now we know why. Shelton noted that he doesn’t believe the injury is anything serious, but Bednar’s status should be monitored over the coming days. Those speculating on saves in daily leagues could try to catch lightning in a bottle with Chapman. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:27 pm

  • Wasn't available Saturday
Bednar was unavailable for Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays due to left side tightness, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Bednar missed out on a save chance Saturday as Aroldis Chapman stepped up in the ninth to close out the win. Bednar's absence was planned after he felt the tightness during his pregame throwing program, but the injury isn't considered to be serious at this point. If he ends up missing more than just Saturday's game, expect Chapman to continue to see save chances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:18 pm

  • Castellanos belts 11th home run in win Saturday
Nick Castellanos went 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBI against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Castellanos’ home run was his 11th of the season and went so far he started removing his protective elbow pad before he even exited the batter’s box. In all, he had a sacrifice fly, two-run home run and two-run double. Castellanos has struggled this season with a .225 average and .672 OPS, but the Phillies lineup still provides opportunities to drive in runs as he now has 37 RBI on the year. • Jose Miranda drives in three, reaches four times
Jose Miranda went 3-for-5 with three RBI in a win over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Miranda also drew a walk, so a four-reach game for the 25-year-old infielder on top of the three RBI. Those are always enjoyable. With the three knocks and free pass, Miranda is now slashing a very solid .289/.330/.488, and he’s also knocked in 30 runs in his 61 appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:45 pm

  • Christopher Morel wallops 446-foot homer in win
Christopher Morel went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Saturday, powering the Cubs to an 8-1 blowout victory over the Mets.

Advice: Morel contributed a run-scoring single as part of Chicago’s five-run opening frame against Mets starter Tylor Megill before clobbering a gargantuan 446-foot solo shot to left-center field -- his 14th round-tripper of the season -- a couple innings later. It was a much-needed tater for Morel, who hadn’t gone deep since June 11. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:19 pm

  • Gets Saturday off
Langeliers is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Twins.

Advice: Langeliers will begin Saturday's game in the dugout after going 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Friday's 6-5 win over Minnesota. The lefty-hitting Kyle McCann will start behind home plate Saturday and bat ninth against Twins right-hander Bailey Ober. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:22 pm

  • Shut down from throwing
Romano experienced right elbow soreness after long tossing from 120 feet Friday and has been shut down from throwing, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Advice: Romano was slated to throw off the mound over the weekend, but he will now take a break while the team determines the next steps. Prior to landing on the injured list June 1, the 31-year-old closer registered eight saves across 15 outings with a 6.59 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 13.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:40 am
