• Heading to bench Thursday
Joe is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Joe will take a seat for the series finale along with two of the other Pirates' everyday players in Andrew McCutchen and Nick Gonzales. Though he's been one of the Pirates' better hitters for much of the season, Joe has fallen into a 2-for-27 skid at the plate over his last eight games. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:37 am

  • Vlad Jr. is getting a day off on Wednesday
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is not in the Blue Jays’ starting lineup on Wednesday against the Brewers.

Advice: It’s just a routine rest day for Guerrero, who has seen his batting average skyrocket over the last few weeks with plenty of hard contact. The home runs have not been there, and might not ever come back at the level we saw in the past given his launch angles, but there’s nothing to worry about here. Spencer Horwitz will lead off and play first base on Wednesday with Isiah Kiner-Falefa at second base and Ernie Clement starting at third. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:22 am

  • Absent from lineup
Hoskins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Hoskins has been struggling at the plate over the past week, going just 3-for-20. He'll begin Wednesday's afternoon game on the bench while Jake Bauers plays first base and Christian Yelich serves as the Brewers' designated hitter. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:33 am

  • Receiving day off
Guerrero is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: With Daniel Vogelbach serving as Toronto's designated hitter and with Spencer Horwitz getting the nod at first base, Guerrero will hit the bench for the first time all season in what appears to be routine maintenance. Guerrero went hitless in nine at-bats over his first two games of the series to bring his batting average down to .282 for the season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:05 am

  • Timely hit against Twins
Joe went 1-for-5 with a triple and two RBI on Sunday against the Twins.

Advice: Joe delivered his lone hit of the game in the fifth inning to give the Pirates a brief lead. He has five RBI and seven runs scored across his last 10 games, though that production has primarily come due to timely hitting as he is just 7-for-38 overall in that span. Joe remains a near everyday player for Pittsburgh, playing primarily in right field against right-handed pitching while shifting to first base against lefties. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:42 am

  • Joe hits seventh home run Friday
Connor Joe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Twins on Friday.

Advice: The home run was Joe’s seventh of the year. He’s up to .270 with a .792 OPS on the season. While he’s seen regular playing time this year, he’s certainly proven to be better against left-handed pitching once again. Joe has a .288/.356/.500 line in 90 plate appearances against southpaws this season. Rotoworld Friday, 6:20 pm

  • Crushes seventh homer
Guerrero went 2-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run in Thursday's win over the Orioles.

Advice: The first baseman opened the scoring by launching a cutter from Cade Povich over the right-field fence in the third inning. Guerrero has gone yard twice in the last four games, giving him seven homers on the year. Over the last 15 contests he's slashing .345/.433/.552. Rotowire.com Friday, 6:45 am

  • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. swats three-run homer in win
Vladimir Guerrero popped a three-run homer Thursday to help the Blue Jays to a win over the Orioles.

Advice: Vladdy Jr. gave Cade Povich a rude introduction during Povich’s MLB debut with a three-run blast in the third. The 25-year-old also drew a walk and singled. Guerrero Jr. has made loads of hard contact and certainly has been a contributor in the average category with a .295 RBI, but it’s great to see the infielder start to drive the baseball on a more consistent basis as of late. • Exits starting nine
Joe is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Dodgers.

Advice: It's the first time since May 13 that Joe has been absent from the Pirates' starting nine. Rowdy Tellez will occupy first base and Edward Olivares will patrol right field while Joe gets some rest. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:34 am
