    • Secures fourth save
Jax earned the save in a win over the White Sox on Thursday, striking out one over two-thirds of an inning.

Advice: Jax entered the game with one out and a four-run lead in the top of the ninth and got Eloy Jimenez to go down swinging before Robbie Grossman reached on a fielding error in the following at-bat, scoring Nicky Lopez. He then needed just one pitch to retire the final batter via groundout and secure his fourth save of the season. Jax has not allowed a run in either of his last four appearances and had held his opponents hitless in each of his last three, striking out four over that stretch while not issuing any walks. • Goes 4.1 scoreless
Verlander didn't factor into the decision Thursday, allowing three hits and four walks with seven strikeouts over 4.1 scoreless innings against the Cubs.

Advice: Verlander couldn't complete five innings Thursday, getting pulled after 95 pitches. His inefficiency and lack of control led to four walks, but he kept each baserunner from reaching home plate. Through two starts Verlander owns a 1.74 ERA with 11 strikeouts across 10.1 innings. He's expected to make his next start Thursday against the Guardians. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:56 pm
    • Nabs another start Sunday
Elder is slated to start Sunday's game against the Guardians in Atlanta.

Advice: Elder staged a successful 2024 MLB debut Monday, holding the Marlins scoreless over 6.2 innings while striking out four and allowing nine baserunners in a winning effort. He joined the Atlanta rotation as a replacement for Darius Vines and should have some staying power with the big club due to Spencer Strider (elbow) being out for the season. Elder compiled a 3.81 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 128:63 K:BB across 174.2 innings with Atlanta in 2023. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:44 pm

    • Justin Verlander fires 4 1/3 scoreless vs. Cubs
Justin Verlander didn’t give up a run over 4 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts in a no-decision against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: Verlander allowed just three hits, but the seven punchouts along with four walks worked the pitch count up enough for him to not qualify for a decision. The right-hander gave up just one extra-base hit — a double by Nico Hoerner — and while he did have some control issues, the stuff looked solid in his second start of 2024. Verlander is back on the bump next week against the Guardians. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:09 pm
    • Jax locks down fourth save of the season
Griffin Jax came to the rescue in the ninth inning to secure a 6-3 win over the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: The Twins entered the ninth with a 6-2 lead but the White Sox loaded the bases with one out, which brought Jax into the game. He got Eloy Jimenez to strike out, but then an error by Carlos Santana brought in a run and extended the game. Jax was able to induce a groundball to get out of the game and lock down his fourth save of the season. He has a 2.53 ERA on the year and has been solid for the Twins, but his time as the closer could be coming to an end with Jhoan Duran nearing a rehab assignment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:59 pm
    • Takes seat against southpaw
Muncy is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: With the Dodgers and Nationals concluding their series with a day game after a night game and with southpaw MacKenzie Gore on the bump for Washington, Muncy is one of three lefty-hitting regulars who will get the afternoon off. Muncy will be joined on the bench by Gavin Lux and James Outman. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:57 am

    • Resting Thursday
Heim is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Heim looks to be receiving some routine maintenance as the Rangers and Mariners wrap up their series with a day game after a night game. Andrew Knizner will get the starting nod behind the plate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:52 am

    • Blasts seventh homer
Ward went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Ward followed up Mike Trout's solo homer in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run shot of his own just two batters later, bringing the Angels back within three runs of Baltimore. The outfielder now has five homers and 19 RBI in April, though he's gone just 4-for-26 (.153) at the plate over his last seven games. He's also failed to register multiple hits in any game over that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:42 am

    • Works two frames for hold
Adam struck out two across two scoreless innings without allowing a baserunner to earn a hold Wednesday against the Tigers.

Advice: Adam was the presumed closer with Pete Fairbanks (arm) sidelined, but he instead was used in the highest-leverage spot. He entered the game in the seventh inning to face the top of the Tigers' order and protect a two-run lead. Adam was very effective and picked up his seventh hold of the campaign, but Garrett Cleavinger was ultimately the reliever to pick up the save. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:57 am
