• Losing out on playing time
Cabbage is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Cabbage and Chas McCormick had been sharing time in right field as of last week while Kyle Tucker (shin) remains on the injured list, but Cabbage seems to have fallen out of favor in the wake of Joey Loperfido's promotion from Triple-A Sugar Landon Friday. With Loperfido presenting Houston with another lefty-hitting option in the outfield, Cabbage now finds himself on the bench for a fourth straight game. Rotowire.com Today, 10:47 am

  • Getting day off
Dubon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Dubon will get the afternoon off after he had started in each of Houston's last 15 games. Though he's served mostly as a utility player during that stretch, Dubon appears to have found a home of late at first base, where he made each of his last three starts. Jon Singleton will step in for Dubon on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 10:44 am

  • Grounds out in return to action
Sano went 0-for-1 against Oakland in a 7-5 victory Tuesday.

Advice: Sano was activated from the injured list Tuesday after missing 50 games with left knee inflammation. He entered as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and grounded out to second base. Sano seems likely to return to the role he held prior to the injury, logging semi-regular at-bats while playing at first base and third base as well as getting starts as the Angels' designated hitter. • Reaches double-digit steals
Neto went 0-for-2 with a walk, a run and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-5 win against Oakland.

Advice: Neto was also hit by a pitch in the fourth inning, and he came around to score when the next batter (Mickey Moniak) belted a grand slam. Neto's eighth-inning theft was his 10th of the campaign through 76 contests; as a rookie last year, he stole a modest five bases in 84 games. The shortstop also has 10 homers this season, making him one of 14 big-leaguers to have reached double-digit home runs and stolen bases so far in 2024. Rotowire.com Today, 10:37 am

  • Battling knee tendinitis
Reds manager David Bell said Wednesday that Candelario is dealing with knee tendinitis that is "progressively not getting better" and "maybe a bit worse," Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Candelario -- who is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Pirates -- was removed from a game last week with the knee issue, and it has continued to nag at him. Bell noted that Candelario is still able to play but added that the infielder will be re-evaluated later Wednesday as the club decides how to best handle the situation. With Noelvi Marte looking likely to return from an 80-game suspension Thursday to provide the club another option at third base, it's possible the Reds will choose to put Candelario on the injured list if they determine his knee would improve with some extended rest. • Luke Raley scratched from Mariners lineup
Luke Raley was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup for the game against the Rays.

Advice: No word yet on why Raley won’t play versus his former team. Ryan Bliss entered the lineup in his place, with Dylan Moore moving from second base to left field. Rotoworld Today, 8:31 am

  • Mauricio Dubón sits after 15 straight starts
Mauricio Dubón is absent from the Astros lineup Wednesday for the first time since June 7.

Advice: Dubón is a fantastic utilityman, but an everyday first baseman or left fielder he’s not and that’s rather how the Astros have been treating him lately. He’s hit .250/.276/.361 in 77 plate appearances this month, and it’d be for the best if he plays less once Kyle Tucker rejoins the Houston outfield. With Dubón sitting, Jon Singleton is making his first start since Friday. Rotoworld Today, 8:29 am

  • Scratched for series finale
The Mariners scratched Raley from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays for an unspecified reason, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The team will likely provide an explanation for Raley's late scratch later Wednesday. Ryan Bliss will enter the lineup as a replacement for Raley, covering second base while Dylan Moore covers Raley's spot in left field. Rotowire.com Today, 8:28 am

  • Receiving rest Wednesday
Candelario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Candelario will get a routine day off after he had been in the lineup for each of the previous five contests. Spencer Steer and Santiago Espinal will occupy the corner-infield spots for the Reds on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 7:40 am
