Valdez (3-3) took the loss against Seattle on Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four batters over six innings.

Advice: Valdez looked to be in for a rough night after giving up three runs on four hits in the first inning, but he settled in from there and yielded just two hits and no runs the rest of the way. That allowed him to squeak by with a quality start, though he nonetheless ended with his second straight loss. Valdez gave up eight runs over five frames against the Angels in his previous appearance, so this was a decent bounce-back despite the difficult first inning. The left-hander tentatively lines up to face Minnesota at home in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:39 pm
    • Framber Valdez turns in quality start in loss
Framber Valdez surrendered three runs in six innings Monday in a no-decision versus the Mariners.

Advice: All of the runs scored in the first, an inning that could have been much worse if Jake Meyers didn’t cover half of the outfield to chase down a Cal Raleigh fly with the bases loaded. Valdez still gave up four hits that inning, but he allowed just two more the rest of the way. Nevertheless, he still took the loss in a 3-2 game, leaving him 3-3 with a 4.34 ERA for the season. A home start against the Twins is up next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:31 pm
    • Fans seven in no-decision
Snell allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over four innings in a no-decision against Philadelphia on Monday.

Advice: Snell went on the paternity list Thursday while awaiting the birth of his child, but he ended up taking his normal turn in the rotation. The left-hander set a season high with seven punchouts but again failed to complete five innings -- through five starts this season, he's topped out at 4.2 frames. Snell also has yet to allow fewer than three earned runs in an outing, and his ERA for the campaign sits at an unsightly 10.42. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:23 pm
    • LaMonte Wade Jr. likely to go IL due to hamstring
LaMonte Wade Jr. has a strained left hamstring and will undergo an MRI on Tuesday.

Advice: Expectations are that Wade will go on the injured list. That’ll probably make Wilmer Flores the Giants’ primary first baseman for at least a couple of weeks. Tyler Fitzgerald or David Villar are candidates to join the Giants in his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:20 pm

    • Snell strikes out seven in no-decision Monday
Blake Snell allowed four runs (three earned) in four innings and got a no-decision in the Giants’ 8-4 victory over the Phillies on Monday.

Advice: Snell allowed five hits, two walks and struck out seven. It’s been a difficult start to the year for the two-time Cy Young award winner. Snell is yet to complete five innings in any of his five starts and has a 10.42 ERA. The seven strikeouts were a season-high at least. The 31-year-old left-hander is set to face the Yankees at home this weekend.

    • Diagnosed with hamstring injury
Wade left Monday's game against the Phillies due to a left hamstring strain, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Wade appeared to be grabbing his left knee before exiting Monday's game, but after further evaluation, it's been determined that he's dealing with a hamstring issue. The team has yet to comment further on whether a trip to the 10-day injured list will be required, but it seems likely given the nature of the injury, along with the fact that Wade will undergo an MRI on Tuesday, according to Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic. Wilmer Flores would be in line for more chances at first base if Wade misses additional time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:41 pm

    • LaMonte Wade Jr. exits game with leg injury
LaMonte Wade Jr., who has been dealing with a left hamstring issue, left Monday’s game in the fifth inning with an apparent left leg injury.

Advice: Wade awkwardly slammed his left leg into the bag sliding into second on a double, but it looked like he might have tweaked the hamstring prior to that. He had his arm around the trainer as he walked off, so this could be more than a day-to-day kind of thing this time. If he lands on the IL, the Giants will probably turn to Wilmer Flores at first base. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:43 pm

    • Exits game with knee injury
Wade was lifted from Monday's game against the Phillies with an apparent left knee injury, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Wade doubled off the wall in the bottom of the fifth inning but came up lame and had to be removed for a pinch-runner. He had missed the previous two games with a hamstring issue, but it would appear this is unrelated. The Giants should have more on Wade soon. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:42 pm

    • Returns to action Monday
Wade (hamstring) will start at first base and bat second in Monday's game versus the Phillies.

Advice: Wade had to exit a game this past Friday after tweaking his hamstring, causing him to miss the next two contests. He's feeling well enough to give it a go in this one, though, as the Giants take on right-hander Taijuan Walker and the Phillies. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:09 am
