    • Framber Valdez picks up win in return from IL
Framber Valdez won in his return from the IL on Sunday, allowing two runs over five innings against the Rockies in Mexico City.

Advice: Sharp even without the benefit or a rehab assignment, Valdez struck out six and walked none today. He threw 71 pitches, which is right where Houston wanted him in his first start back from elbow inflammation. He’ll face the Mariners at home next time out. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago
    • Luis Campusano belts three-run homer in loss
Luis Campusano went 1-for-2 and belted a three-run homer as the Padres fell to the Phillies on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

Advice: Campusano entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Kyle Higashioka in the seventh inning and responded by crushing a 397-foot (106.2 mph EV) three-run blast off of Taijuan Walker that pulled the Padres to within a run at 7-6. That would be as close as they would get. The 25-year-old backstop is now hitting .290/.320/.430 with a pair of homers and 17 RBI on the season. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago
    • Launches homer in loss
Paredes went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Paredes took Erick Fedde deep for a solo shot in the top of the fourth, giving Tampa Bay an early 1-0 lead. He later singled and came around to score in the top of the ninth on a double from Harold Ramirez. The homer was the 25-year-old's seventh of the season and second in his last five games. Since April 14, Paredes has batted .314 with three home runs, seven RBI and seven runs scored over 51 at-bats in 13 games. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago

    • Fans six in win
Valdez allowed two runs on five hits over five innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Rockies.

Advice: Valdez was activated from the injured list and made his first appearance since April 2. He coughed up a pair of runs in the second inning but otherwise looked solid. He forced 13 swinging strikes and his sinker touched 96 mph. Through three starts this season, Valdez has produced a 2.60 ERA with a 16:6 K:BB across 17.1 frames. He's currently projected for a home start against the Mariners next weekend. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago
    • Henry Davis exits for pinch-hitter versus Giants
Henry Davis struck out twice before exiting for a pinch-hitter Sunday against the Giants.

Advice: The Pirates might have batted for him anyway, but Davis did get hit on the right hand while catching today and was definitely feeling it afterwards. Davis has really struggled this season, hitting .169/.282/.215 in 79 plate appearances, and odds are that he’s going to be sent to Triple-A once Yasmani Grandal comes off the IL. • Bello expected back “sooner rather than later”
Red Sox’ skipper Alex Cora told reporters on Sunday that Brayan Bello (lat) is making great progress in his recovery and is expected back “sooner rather than later”.

Advice: That certainly qualifies as an encouraging update for the injured right-hander. It’s unclear if Bello will require a minor league rehab start or not before rejoining the Red Sox rotation, but it’s sounding like he could be ready to be activated from the injured list when first eligible, or shortly after. • Isaac Paredes goes 2-for-4, hits seventh homer
Isaac Paredes finished 2-for-4 with a homer versus the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: Paredes is the one holdover in the Rays lineup who hasn’t been hurt or a disappointment. The homer today was his seventh. No one else on the squad has more than three. Rotoworld Today, 2:02 pm

    • Not starting Sunday
Campusano is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Campusano has a .907 OPS with four doubles in his past seven contests and will sit Sunday after starting the previous three games. Kyle Higashioka will step in behind the plate to catch for Michael King in the series finale versus the Phillies. Rotowire.com Today, 12:30 pm
    • Luis Campusano takes seat Sunday vs. Phillies
Luis Campusano is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Phillies.

Advice: Campusano went 2-for-7 in the first two games of the series against Philadelphia, with both hits coming Friday. The 25-year-old backstop will take a seat with Kyle Higashioka starting behind the plate and hitting ninth. Rotoworld Today, 10:47 am
