    • Marlins bring up Kyle Tyler for Sunday spot start
Marlins selected the contract of RHP Kyle Tyler from Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Tyler isn’t a recommended streaming option for fantasy managers when he takes the ball for Sunday’s series finale against the Mariners. The 27-year-old righty has pitched well this season for Triple-A Jacksonville, but we’re going to need to see it at the highest level before fully trusting him, even in deeper mixed leagues. He could wind up sticking around for awhile with Braxton Garrett hitting the injured list with a forearm flexor tendon strain. Rotoworld Sunday, 8:22 am

    • Pitches better Saturday
Neris worked around a hit and a walk to pitch a scoreless ninth inning in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Mets. He struck out two.

Advice: Neris was still a little shaky, but this was a step in the right direction after he allowed seven earned runs over 2.2 innings and blew two saves in his last three outings. The veteran worked the end of the game Saturday, though it wasn't a save opportunity, and Colten Brewer was the pitcher tapped for the team's last save chance in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Giants. Neris is likely still the closer in Chicago moving forward, but his margin for error has shrunk. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:10 am
    • Records final outs in win
Kopech allowed one hit and walked one while striking out two across a scoreless ninth inning Saturday against the Tigers.

Advice: Kopech entered the game with a four-run lead and allowed consecutive batters to reach base with two outs. He managed to escape to turn in his second consecutive scoreless appearance, though he's still allowed eight earned runs across his last 8.1 frames. Those struggles have called Kopech's role as closer into question, though he did enter Saturday's game after John Brebbia. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:10 pm

    • Kyle Tyler tabbed to start for Marlins on Sunday
Kyle Tyler will be promoted from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday to start for the Marlins in their series finale against the Mariners.

Advice: The Marlins have dealt with an absolutely unrealistic number of injuries in their starting rotation this season, and with Braxton Garrett getting scratched from his scheduled start on Sunday they really don’t have anywhere else to turn. Tyler, 27, has made eight career appearances at the big-league level — all of them out of the bullpen. At Triple-A Jacksonville this season he has registered a 2.80 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and a 35/18 K/BB ratio across 45 innings in 10 appearances (eight starts). He can safely be avoided for fantasy purposes. • Set for first career start
The Marlins plan to call up Tyler from Triple-A Jacksonville to start Sunday's game against the Mariners, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Tyler will make a spot start Sunday in place of Braxton Garrett, who was scratched from his start this weekend with left elbow discomfort. Tyler's only appearance this season with Miami came April 26, when he allowed one run on one hit across two innings before being designated for assignment. He cleared waivers and remained in the organization as a full-time member of the rotation at Jacksonville, with whom he's accrued a 2.25 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 29:16 K:BB in 40 innings since the beginning of May. • Strikes out five Friday
Hodge tossed 2.1 scoreless innings in Friday's 11-1 loss to the Mets. He allowed one hit and two walks while striking out five.

Advice: In a game that featured 14 hits and 11 runs for New York, Hodge was a bright spot out of the Chicago bullpen. The rookie set a new career best in strikeouts, and he now has 12 of them across 7.1 innings this season to go along with a strong 2.45 ERA. If Hodge can keep pitching like this, he may see his role expand as the year goes on. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:36 am

    • Making second rehab appearance
Faedo (hip) is scheduled to pitch for Triple-A Toledo on Saturday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Faedo threw a scoreless inning Wednesday in his first rehab outing and is in line to pitch again Saturday in what could be his final appearance with Toledo. Faedo owns a 3.38 ERA, six holds and a 3-1 record across 34.2 innings with the Tigers. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:14 pm

    • Bypassed in save opportunity
Neris was not used to close out Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Giants, with Colten Brewer getting the save instead.

Advice: Neris took the loss and blew a save against the Giants on Monday, allowing three runs (two earned) in an inning of work, and he's allowed a total of seven earned runs over his last three outings. The veteran's ERA has climbed to 4.73 as a result of his recent struggles, and he's blown four saves this year in 14 chances. Chicago manager Craig Counsell said following Monday's game that he didn't plan on making a change at closer, according to James Neveau of Yahoo Sports, but this situation could be fluid. Brewer is at least worth keeping an eye on in the short term. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:39 pm
    • Returns to majors
The Cubs recalled Hodge from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday, Mike McGraw of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

Advice: Hodge was optioned to Iowa less than two weeks ago, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the Cubs since right-hander Keegan Thompson (personal) was placed on the paternity list in a corresponding move. Over his six relief appearances with the Cubs earlier this season, Hodge gave up two earned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out seven. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:32 am
