    • Wenceel Pérez homers in win over KC
Wenceel Pérez went 2-for-4 with a home run in a win over the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Pérez’s home run was the first of his MLB career, traveling 370 feet at 103.1 mph off the bat. The rookie is now slashing .286/.359/.514 and was hitting third for the Tigers on Sunday. While he is still not locked into an every day spot in the lineup, there is a path for him to earn more playing time if he keeps hitting like this. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Maikel Garcia picks up hit in loss
Maikel Garcia went 1-for-4 with a double in loss to the Tigers.

Advice: It wasn’t a tremendous performance from Garcia, but the Royals had just four hits on the day. The double gave Garcia a hit in eight of his last 10 games to up his slash line to .223/.276/.384. If he was dropped after his cold stretch, you should be adding him because the 24-year-old remains a talented hitter who will play every day in Kansas City. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

    • Wacha hit around by the Tigers on Sunday
Michael Wacha allowed four runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Tigers.

Advice: The veteran also struck out three and walked nobody. The changeup was really the only pitch working for Wacha today, and even though that usually leads the way for him, Wacha wasn’t able to get much help from his other pitches, including a curve that didn’t even find the strike zone 30 percent of the time. Wacha doesn’t have a high ceiling, but his floor is usually a little safer than this; he just needs to maintain his command. He gets a tough matchup against the Rangers next week. • Alek Thomas plays in simulated game on Saturday
Alek Thomas (hamstring) took at-bats and ran the bases during a simulated game on Saturday.

Advice: The 24-year-old outfielder has not yet been cleared to roam the outfield defensively, but it’s nice to see that he continues to progress in his recovery from a left hamstring strain. It sounds like if everything continues to go well he could head out on a minor league rehab assignment by the end of next week. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

    • Sent to Triple-A
The Cubs optioned Little to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Little surrendered five runs over two-thirds of an inning Saturday and will be demoted in favor of some fresh arms. Daniel Palencia and Richard Lovelady are joining the Cubs as Jordan Wicks (forearm) heads to the injured list. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago
    • Back in big leagues
The Cubs Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago TribunePalencia from Triple-A Iowa on Sunday.

Advice: The 24-year-old was sent down by Chicago on April 17 but will rejoin the big club for Sunday's series finale in Boston. Palencia has made three MLB appearances this season and has given up four earned runs with a 5:7 K:BB over six innings. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago
    • Kirk has three hits, HR in win over LAD
Alejandro Kirk went 3-for-3 with a solo home run in a win over the Dodgers on Sunday.

Advice: Well, that was sorely needed. The home run was actually Kirk’s softest hit ball of the day, leaving the bat at 99.2 mph while he also registered a 103.3 mph single and another 112.9 mph single. The big fly was Kirk’s first of the season, and he’s slashing just .206/.297/.270 with 10 RBI. Now that Danny Jansen is back, Kirk will need more performances like this to keep holding onto regular playing time. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

    • Ryan Yarbrough throws four shutout in bulk role
Ryan Yarbrough threw four shutout innings on Sunday against the Blue Jays in a bulk relief appearance.

Advice: Yarbrough was the third pitcher in the game for the Dodgers, coming into the game in the fourth inning. He allowed just two hits and struck out two while walking nobody. The lefty now has a 3.00 ERA on the season and has been tremendous in the long relief role for the Dodgers. The role also gives him a chance to snag sneaky wins, which gives him fantasy value in most formats. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

    • Lands on injured list
Wicks was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a strained left forearm, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: The left-hander was scratched from Sunday's start in Boston due to the injury and will be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. Hayden Wesneski will start in his place and could remain in the rotation while Wicks is out. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago
