    • Kevin Newman hits walk-off single against Reds
Kevin Newman went 4-for-5 with a walkoff two-run single in the ninth inning to give the Diamondbacks a 6-5 win Monday over the Reds.

Advice: Newman poked a single to right to score a pair of runners and turned a potential 5-4 loss into a 6-5 win. The 30-year-old former first-rounder has hit just .253 even with those four hits, and what was once an intriguing fantasy prospect is now someone who can be forgot about on waivers. Monday was a good one, however. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

    • Mike Ford somehow triples in loss to Diamondbacks
Mike Ford hit a triple and drove in two runs in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Monday.

Advice: To the surprise of absolutely no one who has seen Ford play, that’s the first triple of his MLB career. The 31-year-old drove in a run on the three-bagger and another with a single in the sixth. Ford is going to see time at first base with Christian Encarnacion-Strand, but he isn’t likely to do enough with that time to be worth a fantasy addition. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

    • Elehuris Montero knocks in three to lead Rockies
Elehuris Montero doubled, singled and drove in three runs Monday in leading the Rockies to a 5-4 win over the Padres.

Advice: This is big for Montero, who was on the bench in favor of Hunter Goodman the previous two days. He was hitting .156 this month, leaving him with an ugly .203/.250/.280 line for the year and putting him in danger of being DFA’d when the Rockies get Kris Bryant and Nolan Jones back from the IL. Tonight, though, will probably get him another week’s worth of starts. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago

    • Matt Carpenter drives in pair in win over Angels
Matt Carpenter went 1-for-5 and drove in a pair of runs Monday in a win over the Angels.

Advice: Carpenter has his first two RBI of the season. The 38-year-old plated both runs with a single in the seventh that tied the game at 4-4. Carpenter hit leadoff in this game, and while that makes him a little more intriguing than hitting near the bottom, it’s not enough to suggest him as a fantasy player in 2024. • Ty France homers as Mariners outlast Royals
Ty France went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a victory over the Royals on Monday.

Advice: France turned a 4-2 cushion into a 6-2 lead with a two-run shot in the eighth inning. The infielder hasn’t hit for much power in 2024, but that does give him three homers and 13 RBI. France has been known to go on hot streaks, but fantasy managers just can’t bet on enough consistent production to add him to a lineup. Rotoworld Today, 9:17 pm

    • Luke Raley homers, plates three in win over Royals
Luke Raley homered, drove in three runs and stole a base Monday in a 6-2 win over the Royals.

Advice: Raley has been excellent in May, and this was easily his best game in a Mariner uniform. The outfielder scored a two-run homer off Brady Singer in the second inning, and he drove in another with an RBI single in the third. The outfielder also stole his second base of the season, and he’s athletic enough to project more if he can continue to get on base. At this point, it sure seems likely that Raley is going to see much more consistent playing time than he did to begin the year. Rotoworld Today, 9:17 pm

    • Manzardo hitless again Monday
Kyle Manzardo went 0-for-2 with a walk in the Guardians win over the Rangers on Monday.

Advice: Manzardo is now 3-for-19 (.158) with one walk, one double and eight strikeouts to start his big league career. With a left-handed reliever on the mound in the eighth inning, Manzardo was pinch hit for. He should continue to see starts against right-handed pitchers for the rest of the week, but at some point he needs to start stringing some hits together. Rotoworld Today, 9:00 pm

    • Belts grand slam
Bauers went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Monday's loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Bauers cut Pittsburgh's lead to 7-6 with his eighth-inning grand slam but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback. He now has four home runs this season and two in his last four appearances. He's gone 8-for-22 (.364) with nine RBI so far in May. Bauers owns a .244/.326/.476 slash line with 10 extra-base hits and 21 RBI this season. Rotowire.com Today, 8:19 pm

    • Losing work to Soderstrom
Davis remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros.

Advice: Davis has now started just once in the Athletics' last five games, as he's seemingly moved into the short side of a platoon with the lefty-hitting Tyler Soderstrom, who has recently taken over as the team's primary first baseman. The 31-year-old has supplied a career-worst .586 OPS over 83 plate appearances this season, and the non-contending Athletics don't have much incentive to give him regular playing time while he's struggling to produce.
