      Robert went 2-for-3 with a solo home run during Thursday's 1-0 win over Atlanta.

      Advice: Robert's eighth blast of the season came in the first inning off Chris Sale and was the only run to cross the plate on the day. It was just the fourth multi-hit game of the season for Robert, who missed a couple months earlier this season with a hip flexor strain. While Robert has struggled to the tune of a .204 average and 38 strikeouts over 114 plate appearances for the moribund White Sox, his AB/HR ratio of 12.9 is a career-best mark and portends to good things to come for the 26-year-old slugger.     • Westburg hits two-run double in route over Rangers
      Jordan Westburg went 1-for-4 with a two-run double against the Rangers on Thursday.



      Advice: Westburg was thrown out at third trying to stretch a double into a triple, but still drove in two runs to give the Orioles a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The 25-year-old infielder is hitting .286 with an .854 OPS and 48 RBI on the season.

    • Luis Robert homers to give White Sox 1-0 victory
      Luis Robert went 2-for-3 with a homer in a victory over Atlanta on Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader.

      Advice: Robert’s homer was not only the only run Chris Sale allowed and not only the only run for the White Sox, it was the only run scored by either team Thursday. The 26-year-old has homered eight times in his 103 at-bats while driving in 12 runs.     • Kyle Tucker (shin) progresses to hitting again
      Kyle Tucker (shin) progressed to taking 30 swings off a batting tee earlier this week.

      Advice: Tucker is close to resuming running again after landing on the injured list earlier this month with a right shin contusion. It’s a positive sign that he’s progressed to taking some swings again. There isn’t a definitive timetable for his return, but he’s definitely going to need at least a brief minor league rehab assignment before rejoining Houston’s lineup.       Williams (elbow) yielded one run on three hits and two walks over four innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.

      Advice: Williams wasn't very efficient, needing 82 pitches to cover his four frames. The results were impressive, though, as he struck out six, induced 16 whiffs and gave up just one batted ball hit at 95-plus mph. The Guardians have not confirmed any plans for when Williams' season debut for them will occur, but it could be next week, as soon as Tuesday versus the White Sox.       Advice: Jones will thus go the entire week without making a start, much to the chagrin of fantasy managers in weekly leagues who chose to keep him active. Gorman notes that general manager Ben Cherington has previously said that while the Pirates don't intend to shut Jones or fellow rookie phenom Paul Skenes down at any point this season, both pitchers will have their respective workloads managed to some degree as the campaign unfolds. Jones isn't dealing with any sort of injury, so the Pirates appear to have simply chosen this week as an opportunity to build in more recovery for the right-hander, who has logged 86 innings through his first 15 big-league starts.       Shane Baz delivered another strong start at Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, giving up two runs on six hits over his five innings of work.

      Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander piled up seven strikeouts on the night while issuing two free passes. Baz got up to 93 pitches in the ballgame, throwing 59 of them for strikes. He’ll continue to dominate at the Triple-A level until the Rays have had enough of Aaron Civale, or until they gain another year of team control over him following the All-Star break.       Wednesday’s game between the Blue Jays and Red Sox in Boston was suspended due to rain.

      Advice: There hadn’t been any rain in the forecast, but a storm popped up early in the second inning and washed out any chances of the two sides getting this game in. The game will resume on August 26 in the top half of the second inning, with the Blue Jays having a runner at first base with one out.
