    • Nolan Jones goes deep in loss to White Sox
Nolan Jones went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Jones took Jonathan Cannon deep for a two-run shot in the fifth inning. It was only his third home run of the season as he’s struggled to a .192/.298/.323 slash line, striking out 33.1 percent of the time across 151 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:53 pm

    • Cal Quantrill serves up three homers in loss to White Sox
Cal Quantrill allowed five runs with eight strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Quantrill was cruising through four innings, allowing just two baserunners into the fifth. Things unraveled quickly. Lenyn Sosa took him deep for a two-run shot to put the White Sox on the board. Luis Robert Jr. followed with a solo homer to lead off the sixth. Then Paul Delong put Chicago ahead with a two-run blast that would knock Quantrill from the game with one out in the sixth. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 3.78 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 72/34 K/BB ratio across 95 1/3 innings into a start against the Brewers in Colorado on Thursday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:52 pm
    • Day off Saturday
Mountcastle isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Mountcastle will get a day to regroup Saturday after going 0-for-10 at the plate over his last three games. Ryan O'Hearn will fill in for Mountcastle at first base, moving Heston Kjerstad into the DH spot while Colton Cowser picks up another start in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:37 pm

    • Ryan Mountcastle absent from O’s lineup Saturday
Ryan Mountcastle is not in the Orioles’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s showdown against the Rangers.

Advice: It appears to be nothing more than a routine night off for the 27-year-old slugger. Ryan O’Hearn will spell Mountcastle at first base, allowing Heston Kjerstad to function as the team’s designated hitter while Colton Cowser covers left field against Michael Lorenzen and the Rangers on Friday evening in Baltimore. • Set to return next week
Angels manager Ron Washington said Saturday that Soriano (abdomen) is expected to return from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Athletics, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Soriano landed on the injured list June 20 with an infection in his abdomen, and Washington believes the right-hander will be ready to return when first eligible. Soriano has been throwing from 120 feet as well as playing long toss in preparation for a return. He could face a light restriction with his pitch count in his first start back from the IL. • CJ Abrams in Saturday’s lineup after HBP on Friday
CJ Abrams (wrist) is in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Rays.

Advice: Abrams is back at shortstop and leading off on Saturday after being hit by a pitch twice during Friday’s game -- first on his right arm by an 89 mph cutter in the first inning and then on his left wrist by an 88 mph offering a couple frames later. The positive news here is that X-rays came back negative and the issue didn’t seem to impact the cyst that he’s been dealing with near that left wrist. All indications are that he’s good to go this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:40 am

    • Excellent production continues
Altuve went 2-for-5 with a double and a solo home run Friday against the Mets.

Advice: Altuve recorded his fourth consecutive multi-hit game and has maintained a .337 average across 23 games in June. His power has picked up of late, as he's now popped three homers in his last 10 starts while also swiping four bags in that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:48 am

    • Cal Raleigh drives home game-winner in 10th
Cal Raleigh picked up an RBI on a fielder’s choice to give the Mariners a 3-2 win over the Twins on Friday.

Advice: The Mariners scored all of their runs in bizarre fashion Friday, and Raleigh made sure the game-winner was a dribbler that was good enough to score J.P. Crawford from third and give Seattle the win. The 27-year-old backstop has really struggled to hit for average, but has helped as a ron-producer with 50 RBI in through the first 84 games of the year. • CJ Abrams (hand) checks out fine after HBP Friday
CJ Abrams checked out fine after being hit in the left hand/wrist area by a pitch during Friday’s loss to the Rays.

Advice: Abrams stayed in for the duration of the game, but had X-rays done afterwards just to be on the safe side and they came back negative for any fractures. He should be in his customary leadoff spot in the Nationals’ lineup once again on Saturday. Rotoworld Friday, 6:59 pm
