    • Clay Holmes picks up four-out save vs. Tigers
      Clay Holmes hurled a scoreless 1 1/3 innings to get a save Saturday against the Tigers.

      Advice: Holmes gave up one hit while picking up a pair of strikeouts. This now makes 16 consecutive appearances to begin the year where he hasn’t allowed a run, and he’s already up to 11 saves on the season. Can’t do much better than that. Rotoworld Today, 12:48 pm
       
    • Aaron Judge ejected for first time in career
      Aaron Judge was ejected for arguing balls and strikes during Saturday’s game against the Tigers. He went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored before exiting.

      Advice: That’s the first time Judge has been ejected from a game in his MLB career. Judge appeared to judge — pun intended — the pitch correctly, as the offering appeared to be quite a bit outside of the strike zone. Trent Grisham has taken over in center.     • Padres officially acquire Luis Arraez from Marlins
      Padres acquired Luis Arraez and cash considerations from the Marlins for OF Dillon Head, OF Jakob Marsee, 1B Nathan Martorella and RHP Woo-Suk Go.

      Advice: What was announced Friday is official Saturday. Arraez will head to the Padres after hitting .299 with a 719 OPS over 137 at-bats with the Marlins in 2023, and he’s a career .324/.377/.423 hitter in his time with the Fish and the Twins.       Cecconi (1-2) took the loss Friday against the Padres, yielding six runs on five hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Cecconi cruised through the San Diego lineup once, retiring the first nine batters in order. However, he floundered in the fourth, allowing four runs, two walks and three extra base hits, including back-to-back homers to Fernando Tatis and Jake Cronenworth.       Arenado went 2-for-4 with two doubles and there RBI in Friday's win over the White Sox.

      Advice: Arenado gave St. Louis an early lead with a two-run double in the first inning before adding another RBI double in the fifth. Over his previous 13 games, he posted a disappointing .614 OPS with just one multi-hit performance. Friday's game was the first time he drove in multiple runs since April 20.       Slade Cecconi surrendered six runs in 4 1/3 innings while being charged with a loss Friday to the Padres.

      Advice: Cecconi was good over the first three innings. The other two innings were anything but. He gave up a four-spot in the fourth inning, and another run was charged to the right-hander after he left on a Manny Machado homer. The 24-year-old pitched well against the Mariners and Giants over his previous two starts, and again, the first three innings showed what he’s capable of.     • Nolan Arenado doubles twice, drives in three
      Nolan Arenado drove in all three runs for the Cardinals while doubling twice against the White Sox on Friday.

      Advice: Arenado doubled home two runs in the first, and another in the fifth. The 33-year-old has picked up eight two-baggers in the 2024 campaign, and the pair of hits ups his slash to .279/.338/.369.     • Aaron Judge starts key rally against Tigers
      Aaron Judge went singled, walked, stole a base and scored a run as the Yankees rallied to beat the Tigers in the ninth inning on Friday night in the Bronx.

      Advice: Judge drew a two-out walk in the opening inning and swiped second base, but wound up being stranded there. He then started a key rally in the ninth inning with a leadoff single off of Tigers’ closer Jason Foley then came around to score the tying run on an RBI double off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton. With the 1-for-3 night, the 32-year-old superstar is now hitting .200/.336/.392 with six homers, 18 RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm

    • Headed to San Diego
      The Marlins traded Arraez to the Padres on Friday in exchange for Dillon Head, Woo-suk Go, Nathan Martorella and Jakob Marsee, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.

      Advice: It's not immediately clear how Arraez will fit into the Padres' lineup, as San Diego already has a strong infield unit that includes Jake Cronenworth, Xander Bogaerts, Ha-Seong Kim and Manny Machado, but it's possible Arraez fills in as the Friars' primary designated hitter. The 27-year-old is slashing .299/.347/.372 across 148 plate appearances so far this season, and his departure from Miami leaves Vidal Brujan as the favorite to take over as the Marlins' main second baseman.
