      Jameson Taillon tossed six shutout innings with seven strikeouts in a win over the Brewers on Saturday.

      Advice: Taillon continued his excellent start to the season on Saturday, shutting down the Brewers over six innings. He scattered two hits and two walks, striking out a season-high seven batters. The 32-year-old right-hander has now allowed just three runs over 24 innings for a 1.13 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and a 16/5 K/BB ratio. He’ll take on the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Friday.     • Pablo López fans eight in victory over Red Sox
      Pablo López delivered a dominant performance in Saturday afternoon’s victory over the Red Sox, piling up eight strikeouts over six innings of one-run baseball.

      Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander scattered just five hits and one walk on the afternoon. The lone tally against him came as Tyler O’Neill smacked a two-out double in the opening inning and Wilyer Abreu followed with a run-scoring single. Aside from that, he was in complete control. López got 19 swings and misses on 99 pitches on the afternoon — 11 of those on his fastball — while posting a strong CSW of 31 percent.     • Clarke Schmidt fans seven over five vs. Tigers
      Clarke Schmidt allowed three runs while striking out seven over five innings to get a win Saturday over the Tigers.

      Advice: Schmidt allowed a leadoff homer to Riley Greene, and then the right-hander allowed a pair of runs in the fourth. In between — and an inning after — the right-hander was solid while giving up four hits and not issuing a walk. The overall result is just so-so, but Schmidt looked better than the line suggests.       Stroman came away with a no-decision Friday against the Tigers after giving up one earned run on three hits and five walks while striking out three batters across 5.1 innings.

      Advice: Despite the Tigers' ability to reach base regularly against Stroman, a bases-loaded walk from Colt Keith in the sixth inning was the only way Detroit was able to break through on the scoreboard against him. A quiet night from New York's offense also put Stroman at risk of taking his second loss of the season, but a two-run ninth inning allowed the Yankees to steal the victory from Detroit while handing the right-hander a no-decision.       Advice: Cease continued his brilliant start to the season Friday night, generating 18 whiffs en route to eight strikeouts. The erstwhile White Sox pitcher appears to have re-found his 2022 form, pitching to the tune of a 2.55 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 48:14 K:BB over 42.1 innings.       Advice: Contreras scored runs in the first and fifth innings, both coming via Nolan Arenado doubles. Since his last multi-hit game April 17, Contreras was stuck in a 9-for-43 (.209) slump in 12 games.       Advice: Cease was able to pick up his fourth win of the season with the victory. The right-hander picked up eight strikeouts in the process while not issuing any walks. When the 28-year-old throws strikes, he’s one of the toughest pitchers to have success against, and Friday was a good example of that. He’ll look to repeat his success against the Cubs next week.       Advice: The right-hander struck out three batters on the evening. While he allowed plenty of traffic on the basepaths, the only run that scored against him came as Colt Keith worked a bases-loaded walk in the sixth inning. Stroman got just four swings and misses on 90 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of only 24 percent.
