    The Reds placed Friedl on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right hamstring strain.

    Advice: Friedl initially tweaked the hamstring a week ago and missed two games before returning to action, but he aggravated the injury in Sunday's 7-4 loss to Boston.     Advice: This is Friedl’s third IL stint of the season.     TJ Friedl went 0-for-5 from the leadoff spot Sunday against the Red Sox, leaving him 2-for-23 in his last six games.

    Advice: Friedl got off to a hot start this month, but he’s gone hitless in five of his last six starts, putting him back down to .208/.309/.354 for the season.     Friedl went 2-for-5 in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Boston.

    Advice: Friedl's fifth-inning single snapped an 0-for-16 run. Later in the same inning, Friedl was thrown out at home trying to score on an infield grounder -- one of three baserunning miscues in the game. After missing most of the first two months of the season due to injuries, Friedl is healthy and has started 19 of the 21 games since returning from a second stint on the injured list in late May.     Tyler O’Neill is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Reds.

    Advice: O'Neill will hit the bench after going 0-for-7 with two walks over the Red Sox's previous two contests, but he's been excellent overall since making his return from a three-game absence due to a knee issue earlier this month, slashing .273/.342/.697 since June 12. Even though he finds himself as the odd man out of the Boston outfield Saturday while the team brings Wilyer Abreu (ankle) back from the injured list, O'Neill should continue to handle a near-everyday role for the Red Sox.     Friedl went 0-for-2 with an RBI and was hit by a pitch in Friday's 5-2 win over Boston.

    Advice: Friedl, who was hitless in 14 consecutive at-bats when he came up in the seventh inning with runners in scoring position, was thinking bunt. The player that led the majors last season with 17 bunt hits laid down a squeeze bunt. When the throw to the plate got past Red Sox catcher Connor Wong, both runners scored, giving Cincinnati some separation.     Pederson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-4 win over the Phillies on Friday.

    Advice: Pederson hit a solo home run in the third inning, singled in the fifth and walked in the seventh. Over his last 10 games, the veteran outfielder has gone 12-for-31 with three homers, 13 RBI and nine runs scored. Pederson only has eight at-bats against left-handed pitchers this season, but he is crushing righties to the tune of a .306/.398/.529 slash line with nine home runs, 33 RBI and 28 runs scored in 202 plate appearances.
