    Advice: Smith pinch hit for Eugenio Suarez and sent a center-cut fastball over the fence in center field for a walk-off home run. It was his second homer of the season and the first walk-off blast of his career. Smith has been relegated to the bench and pinch-hit duties mostly, but he has a knack for high-leverage moments. Hays has seen inconsistent playing time over the past two weeks but he is starting to heat up, batting 5-for-9 with three extra-base hits over his past three appearances.     Advice: Ramos has homered in back-to-back games, and his blast Monday tied the contest at 2-2 in the seventh inning. He's gone 5-for-13 over three games to begin June after batting .280 in May following his call-up to the big-league roster. Ramos is slashing .295/.361/.477 with four homers, 17 RBI, 10 runs scored, four doubles and one stolen base over 24 contests this season. He saw a fairly steady run in left field while Michael Conforto was out with a hamstring injury, but Ramos looks poised to challenge Mike Yastrzemski for the starting job in right field after Conforto was activated from the injured list Monday.     Pinch-hitter Pavin Smith hit a two-run homer off Randy Rodriguez in the bottom of the ninth to give the Diamondbacks a 4-2 win over the Giants on Monday.

    Advice: Smith’s 424-foot shot to center would have been a double had it turned a few inches to the left, but that still would have been enough to win the game. It was Smith’s second homer in 50 plate appearances this season and 30th in 1,144 trips to the plate since he debuted in 2020.     Heliot Ramos went 2-for-4 and hit his fourth homer Monday against the Diamondbacks.

    Advice: The Giants lose some defense by playing Ramos over Luis Matos or Mike Yastrzemski with Michael Conforto back, but it’s going to be worth it for as long as Ramos remains hot.
