    • Effective in team debut
Lopez worked around a hit to toss a scoreless inning of relief in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Lopez had his contract selected from Triple-A Iowa before the game, and he proceeded to make his team debut right away. The righty was dumped by the Mets earlier this year, and he struggled to a 5.95 ERA last season with three different teams, but he was an effective reliever as recently as 2022. If Lopez can get back to that form with the Cubs, he could establish a regular role in their bullpen. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago
    • Luis Arraez returns to lineup Friday vs. Red Sox
Luis Arraez (hand) returned to the lineup for Friday’s game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Arraez wound up sitting out just one contest after suffering a hand injury earlier this week. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward for fantasy managers, but we’re contractually obligated to note it here. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago

    • Goes deep in loss
Suzuki went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Suzuki also struck out three times in the contest, but he salvaged his night with his 10th home run of the season through 83 team games. The outfielder has played in 57 of those contests, as he missed some time with an oblique injury. If Suzuki stays healthy in the back half of the year, he could make a run at surpassing last year's career-best total of 20 home runs. Rotowire.com 43 minutes ago
    • Brandon Lowe strikes out as pinch-hitter on Friday
Brandon Lowe (toe) struck out as a pinch-hitter during Friday’s game against the Nationals.

Advice: Lowe has been held out of Tampa Bay’s lineup for the last five games as he recovers from a broken right toe, but it doesn’t appear that he’s going to require a trip to the injured list. He should be back in the lineup at some point this weekend. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago

    • Orioles outright Nick Maton to Triple-A
Orioles sent INF Nick Maton outright to Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Maton will stick around as extra organizational depth after passing through waivers unclaimed earlier this week. The 27-year-old infielder got into one game this season for Baltimore after appearing in 179 contests between the Tigers and Phillies since 2021. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago

    • Marlins outright Kent Emanuel to Triple-A
Marlins sent LHP Kent Emanuel outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Emanuel went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 32-year-old lefty has made five relief appearances this season for the Marlins. Rotoworld Today, 5:54 am

    • D-backs recall Humberto Castellanos on Friday
Diamondbacks recalled RHP Humberto Castellanos from Triple-A Reno.

Advice: Castellanos received the call to rejoin Arizona’s relief mix for Friday’s showdown against the Athletics. The 26-year-old righty made one relief appearance earlier this months in mop-up duty. Rotoworld Today, 5:50 am
    • D-backs option Scott McGough back to Triple-A
Diamondbacks optioned RHP Scott McGough to Triple-A Reno.

Advice: McGough was shipped back to the minors ahead of Friday’s game against the Athletics after compiling an underwhelming 7.33 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 20/18 K/BB ratio across 27 innings (22 appearances, two starts) this season. Rotoworld Today, 5:49 am

    • Registers second steal
Hedges went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Hedges has hit safely in his last three games, going 3-for-8 in that span. The backup catcher has had a tough time seeing steady action with Bo Naylor and David Fry both ahead of him on the depth chart. Hedges is at a .154/.188/.246 slash line with one home run, two steals, nine RBI and six runs scored over 69 plate appearances. He should not be expected to produce much offense even on the rare occasions he's in the lineup. Rotowire.com Today, 12:00 am
