The rookie right-hander put together his fifth quality start in his last six outings, though the win was briefly endangered after Elieser Hernandez gave up a pair of solo home runs in the eighth inning. Yamamoto is at a 3.17 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 61:11 K:BB through 54 innings over 10 starts this season.       Advice: Valdez followed up his start of seven shutout innings versus the Athletics with a dud Monday. He was doing fine until the Angels rallied for seven runs in the fifth, including three-run home runs by Nolan Schanuel and Logan O'Hoppe and a solo shot from Jo Adell. Valdez is now at a 4.32 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 34:12 K:BB through 41.2 innings over seven starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Seattle.       Kremer (3-4) allowed five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two over four innings to take the loss Monday versus the Cardinals.

      Advice: Mike Siani was responsible for plating four of the runs on Kremer's line with an RBI single and a three-run home run. This was a second straight subpar start for Kremer, who has allowed 11 runs (eight earned) over his last 9.2 innings. The right-hander is at a 4.32 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 49:18 K:BB through 50 innings over nine starts this season. The Orioles have a busy schedule through the end of June, so Kremer is unlikely to lose his place in the rotation in the near future, but he'll need to be sharper than he has been lately to maintain his spot in the second half of the season.       Framber Valdez was pounded for eight runs and three homers in five innings by the Angels in Monday’s loss.

      Advice: Valdez allowed just one run on four groundball singles through four innings tonight, but the fifth was a vastly different story. All three homers came in that inning, and it was really pretty amazing that he got to finish the frame while allowing seven runs. Valdez had a 2.88 ERA going into the fifth tonight, only to finish the game at 4.32. It’s the first time in his career that he’s allowed three homers and the second time that he’s allowed eight runs, with the other instance also coming against the Angels in 2020.       Dean Kremer allowed five runs in four innings and took the loss against the Cardinals on Monday.



      Advice: Kremer gave up an RBI single to Michael Siani, an RBI double to Masyn Winn and a three-run home run to Michael Siani. He allowed six hits total, walked three and struck out only two. His ERA is now 4.32 on the season and the loss was his fourth of the year. Kremer has 49 strikeouts in 50 innings on the season and a 1.12 WHIP, but you have to wonder if the Orioles might look for an upgrade in their rotation eventually. The 28-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the White Sox on the road on Saturday.

      Stroman yielded a run on three hits and a walk over 7.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out six during the win over Seattle.

      Advice: Stroman cruised through seven shutout frames before coughing up a solo homer to Dominic Canzone in the eighth inning. Stroman was in line for his fourth win before the Yankees blew the lead in the ninth. He's produced a 2.22 ERA over his last four starts, dropping his season ERA to 3.05 through 56 innings. He's turned in two straight quality starts after failing to finish at least six frames in his previous six appearances. Stroman is in line to start in San Diego this weekend.       Marcus Stroman allowed one run in 7 1/3 innings, struck out six and got a no-decision in the Yankees’ 5-4 loss to the Mariners on Monday.



      Advice: Stroman was in line for his fourth win of the season, but the bullpen was unable to hold the lead. He began the eighth inning by striking out Dylan Moore before allowing a solo home run to Dominic Canzone as the only run he allowed all night. Yankees manager Aaron Boone then removed Stroman for Luke Weaver. Stroman lowered his ERA to 3.05 on the season with his fourth quality start in 10 tries. The 33-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Padres on the road on Saturday.

      Miller (shoulder) is expected to throw a simulated game Tuesday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

      Advice: Miller continues to make progress in his recovery after being sent to the 15-day injured list April 13 due to right shoulder inflammation. He successfully completed a bullpen session Saturday, and as expected, he's now been given the green light to toss a sim game.       José Berríos defeated the White Sox by allowing three runs in six innings on Monday.

      Advice: Three things worked in favor of Berríos on a day in which he was lacking his best stuff: he was facing the White Sox, he had CB Bucknor working his own special brand of magic behind the plate and he was facing the White Sox.
