    • Hangs tough but takes loss
Lively (1-2) took the loss against the White Sox on Thursday, allowing three runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out two batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: It appeared Lively could be in for a short outing after giving up three runs on five hits (including three doubles) and a walk over his first two frames, but the right-hander recovered to go 5.2 innings without giving up another run. The three runs were a season high, which speaks to how well Lively has pitched through five appearances on the season. He holds a 2.63 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 26:9 K:BB across 27.1 innings. • Records second save in as many days
Kopech earned a save against the Guardians on Thursday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter over 1.1 innings.

Advice: Kopech's save against Tampa Bay on Wednesday was relatively stress-free, as he entered with a three-run lead. That wasn't the case Thursday -- Kopech was asked to put out a fire in the bottom of the eighth frame after Cleveland slugged back-to-back homers to get to within a run. The right-hander retired David Fry in that inning to quell Cleveland's momentum, then worked around a one-out single in the ninth to finish off the save. The White Sox are among the worst teams in the majors this season, so Kopech may not have as many save opportunities as closers on contenders, but he's emerged the Chicago's clear go-to ninth-inning option with a save in consecutive contests. • Records four-out save
Hader earned a save against the Yankees on Thursday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Advice: Hader was called upon with two outs and a runner on first with Houston protecting a one-run lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. He got Anthony Rizzo to pop out to end the frame, then completed the save with a scoreless ninth despite allowing a leadoff single. It was just the second time this season Hader was asked to get more than three outs, though he kept his workload relatively light by throwing 14 of his 18 pitches for strikes. The veteran closer's 5.63 ERA so far is well below his career standard, but he has converted four of his five save chances and has 25 punchouts over 16 frames. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:10 pm
    • Improves to 4-0
Blanco (4-0) earned the win over the Yankees on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Blanco was a bit shaky with his control, as he threw just 62 of 107 pitches for strikes and tied a season high with four free passes. However, he allowed just one extra-base hit -- an Anthony Volpe two-run homer that accounted for both runs against him. Blanco thus improved his perfect record to 4-0 on the season, and he's allowed three or fewer runs in all seven of his starts. He's also recorded five quality starts on the campaign, falling one out shy in each of his two outings during which he hasn't met that mark. Blanco has cemented his place in Houston's rotation with a 2.23 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 41:20 K:BB through 44.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:04 pm

    • Michael Kopech collects four-out save on Thursday
Michael Kopech notched a four-out save on Thursday against the Guardians.

Advice: Kopech was called upon to record the final out of the eighth inning after John Brebbia served up back-to-back two-out homers and then came back out to work a scoreless final frame. It was his fourth save of the season and third consecutive scoreless outing since May 4. The 28-year-old former starter boasts a solid 3.66 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 26/10 K/BB ratio across 19 2/3 innings (17 appearances). Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:04 pm

    • Ben Lively goes 5 2/3 frames in loss to White Sox
Ben Lively allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings on Thursday in a loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Lively got into trouble right away as Andrew Vaughn, Paul DeJong and Tommy Pham got to him for run-scoring hits in the first two frames, which was more than enough to saddle him with a loss. He struck out two and also issued three walks. The 32-year-old journeyman has been an unexpected bright spot for Cleveland this season, registering a sparkling 2.63 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 26/9 K/BB ratio across 27 1/3 innings (five starts). He’ll face the defending World Series champion Rangers on Tuesday in his next outing. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:03 pm

    • Yankees option Ron Marinaccio to Triple-A
Yankees optioned RHP Ron Marinaccio to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Marinaccio draws the metaphorical short straw with Nick Burdi set to return from the injured list for Friday’s series opener against the Astros. The 28-year-old righty boasts a stellar 1.42 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 10/5 K/BB ratio across 12 2/3 innings (nine appearances) this season in the big leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:21 pm
    • Optioned to minors
Marinaccio was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes/Barre on Thursday.

Advice: Marinnacio made eight appearances in the majors since being recalled April 13 and posted a 1.42 ERA and 0.79 WHIP with an 10:5 K:BB across 12.2 innings. Despite being effective, he'll head back to the minors to make room for Nick Burdi (hip). Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:13 pm
    • Josh Hader notches four-out save against Yankees
Josh Hader recorded a four-out save on Thursday against the Yankees.

Advice: Hader came on to record the final out of the eighth inning before heading back out to spin a scoreless ninth inning to collect his fourth save of the season. The 30-year-old lefty has converted four of five save chances in his Astros debut so far to go along with a bloated 5.63 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 25/7 K/BB ratio across 16 innings (16 appearances). There’s zero reason for concern here moving forward as he continues to miss bats at an elite rate. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:05 pm
