    • Kremer allows five in loss Monday
Dean Kremer allowed five runs in four innings and took the loss against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Kremer gave up an RBI single to Michael Siani, an RBI double to Masyn Winn and a three-run home run to Michael Siani. He allowed six hits total, walked three and struck out only two. His ERA is now 4.32 on the season and the loss was his fourth of the year. Kremer has 49 strikeouts in 50 innings on the season and a 1.12 WHIP, but you have to wonder if the Orioles might look for an upgrade in their rotation eventually. The 28-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the White Sox on the road on Saturday.

    • Settles for no-decision
Stroman yielded a run on three hits and a walk over 7.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out six during the win over Seattle.

Advice: Stroman cruised through seven shutout frames before coughing up a solo homer to Dominic Canzone in the eighth inning. Stroman was in line for his fourth win before the Yankees blew the lead in the ninth. He's produced a 2.22 ERA over his last four starts, dropping his season ERA to 3.05 through 56 innings. He's turned in two straight quality starts after failing to finish at least six frames in his previous six appearances. Stroman is in line to start in San Diego this weekend. • Stroman allows one run in no-decision
Marcus Stroman allowed one run in 7 1/3 innings, struck out six and got a no-decision in the Yankees’ 5-4 loss to the Mariners on Monday.

Advice: Stroman was in line for his fourth win of the season, but the bullpen was unable to hold the lead. He began the eighth inning by striking out Dylan Moore before allowing a solo home run to Dominic Canzone as the only run he allowed all night. Yankees manager Aaron Boone then removed Stroman for Luke Weaver. Stroman lowered his ERA to 3.05 on the season with his fourth quality start in 10 tries. The 33-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Padres on the road on Saturday.

    • Scheduled for sim game
Miller (shoulder) is expected to throw a simulated game Tuesday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: Miller continues to make progress in his recovery after being sent to the 15-day injured list April 13 due to right shoulder inflammation. He successfully completed a bullpen session Saturday, and as expected, he's now been given the green light to toss a sim game. Miller will likely be sent out on a rehab assignment later in the week, assuming all goes well Tuesday. Rotowire.com Monday, 4:33 pm

    • Sent back to minors
Atlanta optioned Elder to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

Advice: Elder allowed seven runs (six earned) over three innings in a loss to the Padres on Sunday in his last outing. With a bloated 6.46 ERA during his time in the majors, Elder will head back to Gwinnett as he looks to get back on track. Darius Vines has been recalled and is a candidate to take Elder's rotation spot. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:59 pm

    • Bryce Elder sent to Triple-A following Sunday loss
Braves optioned RHP Bryce Elder to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Advice: Elder was roughed up by the Padres on Sunday, leaving him 1-2 with a 6.46 ERA in five starts for the Braves. Because of today’s doubleheader, the team is going to need six starters this week, making it a little surprising that Elder is going now. Still, the Braves valued having a fresh arm available tonight. Rotoworld Monday, 1:50 pm

    • Shaky results in no-decision
Montgomery allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three in six innings Sunday against the Tigers. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Montgomery surrendered a third-inning home run to Spencer Torkelson, and the Tigers got to him for additional runs in the fifth and sixth. He came back out to begin the seventh and allowed a leadoff walk before exiting the game for good, and that runner eventually came around to score. Montgomery managed to reach six innings for the fourth time in six starts but has not struck out more than four batters in any of those four outings. Though a small sample size, Montgomery's strikeout rate this year is on pace to be the lowest of his career, and he's also walked multiple batters in four straight starts. The 31-year-old owns a 4.98 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB in 34.1 innings. He lines up for a home meeting with the Marlins his next time on the mound. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:53 am
    • Pummeled by San Diego
Elder (1-2) took the loss Sunday against the Padres, allowing seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and three walks while striking out three over three innings.

Advice: The Padres put up a quick three runs on Elder in the first inning, all with two outs, highlighted by a two-run blast by Jake Cronenworth. Elder held them scoreless for the next two frames but ran into more issues in the fourth, allowing four straight hits and three more runs to begin the inning before he got pulled. Sunday was the second time in his last three starts he's failed to reach four innings, both of which he's given up seven runs and walked at least three batters. For the year, Elder owns a troublesome 6.46 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 19:11 K:BB in 23.2 innings. He currently lines up to face the Pirates his next time on the mound. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:19 am

    • Bryce Elder knocked around in loss to Padres
Bryce Elder was knocked around in Sunday night’s loss to the Padres, giving up seven runs (six earned) on nine hits over his three-plus innings of work.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander also issued three walks on the night while punching out three. After getting the first two outs in the opening inning, the Padres struck for three runs with two outs, including a two-run blast by Jake Cronenworth. Elder seemed to settle in a bit after that, but allowed four straight hits to start the fourth inning before turning the ball over to the bullpen. He got just eight swings and misses on 93 pitches on the night — six on his slider — while posting a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll carry a troublesome 6.46 ERA and 1.94 WHIP into Friday’s start against the Pirates in Pittsburgh. Rotoworld Sunday, 7:04 pm
