    • Gavin Stone charged with four runs in loss
Gavin Stone lost to the Diamondbacks after allowing four runs in six innings on Tuesday.

Advice: Stone came up a little short of delivering a fifth straight quality start and took his first loss since April 7. He gave up eight hits, walked one and struck out five in falling to 4-2 with a 3.60 ERA. Stone might get a two-start week against the Mets and Rockies next week, which would make him a great play in shallow leagues. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:43 pm
    • Bobby Miller (shoulder) set for rehab start Sunday
Bobby Miller (shoulder) faced hitters on Tuesday in a three-inning simulated game at Dodger Stadium.

Advice: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters afterwards that Miller will make a minor league rehab start on Sunday for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty will likely require a handful of rehab outings to build up his pitch count and stamina as he works his way back from right shoulder inflammation that put him on the shelf back in mid-April. • Throws sim game Tuesday
Miller (shoulder) threw a three-inning, 51-pitch sim game Tuesday and is expected to make a rehab start with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday, according to manager Dave Roberts.

Advice: Miller has been out since April 13 while nursing right shoulder inflammation, but he got one step closer to returning Tuesday. The 25-year-old will likely need to make multiple rehab starts with the team's minor-league affiliates before potentially returning to the major-league roster in early June. • Rejoining rotation Wednesday
Pepiot (lower leg) will be reinstated from the 15-day injured list to start Wednesday against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The 26-year-old righty landed on the shelf with a bruised lower left leg after his May 5 start versus the Mets, but he'll return Wednesday after being sidelined for the 15-day minimum. Any workload limitations for Pepiot will likely be minor, given the brevity of his absence. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:22 pm
    • Cash: Ryan Pepiot starting Wednesday vs. Red Sox
Ryan Pepiot (leg) will start on Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Pepiot will be activated to take the ball on Wednesday against Boston after landing on the injured list earlier this month with a leg bruise after being hit by a 107.5 mph comebacker. The 26-year-old righty gets a decent matchup right away against the Red Sox at pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:42 pm
    • Strikes out eight in win
Yamamoto (5-1) earned the win Monday over the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out eight over 6.1 innings.

Advice: Yamamoto was able to rebound after being not at his best last Monday versus the Giants. The rookie right-hander put together his fifth quality start in his last six outings, though the win was briefly endangered after Elieser Hernandez gave up a pair of solo home runs in the eighth inning. Yamamoto is at a 3.17 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 61:11 K:BB through 54 innings over 10 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in a tough venue, Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:58 pm
    • Worst start of season versus Angels
Valdez (3-2) allowed eight runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings to take the loss Monday versus the Angels.

Advice: Valdez followed up his start of seven shutout innings versus the Athletics with a dud Monday. He was doing fine until the Angels rallied for seven runs in the fifth, including three-run home runs by Nolan Schanuel and Logan O'Hoppe and a solo shot from Jo Adell. Valdez is now at a 4.32 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 34:12 K:BB through 41.2 innings over seven starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Seattle. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:34 pm
    • Hit hard in loss
Kremer (3-4) allowed five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two over four innings to take the loss Monday versus the Cardinals.

Advice: Mike Siani was responsible for plating four of the runs on Kremer's line with an RBI single and a three-run home run. This was a second straight subpar start for Kremer, who has allowed 11 runs (eight earned) over his last 9.2 innings. The right-hander is at a 4.32 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 49:18 K:BB through 50 innings over nine starts this season. The Orioles have a busy schedule through the end of June, so Kremer is unlikely to lose his place in the rotation in the near future, but he'll need to be sharper than he has been lately to maintain his spot in the second half of the season. He is projected to make his next start on the road versus the White Sox. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:09 pm

    • Framber Valdez gives up three fifth-inning homers
Framber Valdez was pounded for eight runs and three homers in five innings by the Angels in Monday’s loss.

Advice: Valdez allowed just one run on four groundball singles through four innings tonight, but the fifth was a vastly different story. All three homers came in that inning, and it was really pretty amazing that he got to finish the frame while allowing seven runs. Valdez had a 2.88 ERA going into the fifth tonight, only to finish the game at 4.32. It’s the first time in his career that he’s allowed three homers and the second time that he’s allowed eight runs, with the other instance also coming against the Angels in 2020.
