      Advice: Palacios lost playing time in the outfield upon Josh Lowe's return, but he has started four of the Rays' last six games at second base. That's primarily displaced Amed Rosario, though both players are likely to lose playing time when Jonathan Aranda (finger) and Brandon Lowe (oblique) -- both currently on a rehab assignment -- are activated from the injured list.       Melendez went 3-for-4 with a triple in Friday's 2-1 win over the Angels.

      Advice: Melendez hasn't been able to string good games together, but he's 7-for-24 (.292) over eight games in May. The outfielder was able to get aboard in the ninth inning before Garrett Hampson entered as a pinch runner and scored on Adam Frazier's home run. Melendez is up to a .202/.260/.395 slash line with four homers, 12 RBI, 10 runs scored, six doubles, two triples and two stolen bases through 123 plate appearances. Melendez continues to be an anchor for batting average in fantasy, but he's still got intriguing power in formats where he's still catcher-eligible despite not playing behind the dish this season.       Advice: Frazier put the Royals ahead with his ninth-inning blast. The second baseman has gone 3-for-7 over his last two games after enduring an 0-for-15 skid over his previous six contests. Frazier's playing time has been irregular since he lost the starting job at the keystone to Michael Massey, but he's been able to draw in with time in the corner outfield and at designated hitter. Frazier's at a .188/.309/.250 slash line with one homer, eight RBI, eight runs scored, a stolen base and two doubles through 94 plate appearances this season, so his lack of an everyday role shouldn't come as a surprise. His homer Friday was his first since April 19, and two of his hits in May have gone for extra bases. The 24-year-old has four homers, 13 RBI, 18 runs scored and four steals through 126 plate appearances. It's fair to question whether Freeman has earned his near-everyday role, but the Guardians are unlikely to shake things up too dramatically while Steven Kwan (hamstring) is out.       Advice: Fairchild pinch hit for Jake Fraley in the eighth inning and delivered an insurance run. It was just Fairchild's second homer of the campaign, both of which have come in May. The outfielder is slashing .197/.260/.296 with eight RBI, eight runs scored, five stolen bases and a double through 78 plate appearances this season. The 31-year-old lifted his slash line to .226/.333/.429 with three homers, 12 RBI, 11 runs scored and five stolen bases through 99 plate appearances.       Jake Bauers followed up his homer Thursday by going 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, a walk and a steal against the Cardinals on Friday.

      Advice: There was a legitimate argument for DFAing Bauers and keeping Tyler Black after Christian Yelich came off the IL, but it was a weaker one if Yelich was going to DH frequently. Bauers thinks the Brewers made the right call, and he’s raised his OPS from .639 to .732 the last two days. He’ll play against most righties for now, though that’s not certain to last.
