    • Gets going with home run
Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sundays 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Bogaerts gave the Padres some extra breathing room with a solo shot off Gus Varland in the fifth. The long ball was his first since April 21, his first RBI since April 25 and his first hit in 17 at-bats since May 6. Bogaerts is still searching for a spark offensively this season, as he's slashing just .211/.264/.301 with three homers, 12 RBI, 22 runs and a 12:36 BB:K in 178 plate appearances. • Fans nine in loss
Gore (2-4) took the loss Sunday against Boston, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: After being chased in three innings by the Blue Jays in his last start, Gore went six deep for the second time this season and notched a quality start. Each of the three runs scored by Boston came in the second as part of a two-hit, one-error frame. One of the runs came on a wild pitch by Gore, with Jarren Duran stealing home. Gore has fanned at least seven hitters in three of his last six starts and has 51 punchouts across 40.0 innings this season. Gore's tentatively scheduled for a start against the Phillies on Saturday. • MacKenzie Gore takes tough luck loss against BOS
MacKenzie Gore allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits in six innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Sunday.

Advice: Gore struck out nine and walked just two on the day while posting a stellar 30 percent whiff rate and 28 percent CSW. His slider was his best pitch today which is partially a problem because it’s his third-most used pitch and he threw only 17 on the day. The curve didn’t miss many bats and got hit hard in what was otherwise a pretty solid overall start for Gore. His ERA stands at 3.38 on the year but he gets a much tougher start next week on the road against the Phillies. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:43 pm
    • Giants place Michael Conforto (hamstring) on IL
Giants placed OF Michael Conforto on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: The 31-year-old slugger sustained the injury as he was rounding first base during Saturday’s game against the Reds. No word yet on how long exactly he’ll be sidelined for. Luis Matos was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move to provide depth in the Giants’ outfield while Conforto is shelved. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:34 pm

    • Lands on IL with hamstring strain
The Giants placed Conforto on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a right hamstring strain.

Advice: After Conforto left in the fourth inning of Saturday's win against the Reds, the hope was that the right hamstring strain was mild enough for the 31-year-old to be considered day-to-day. The MRI on Sunday revealed a more severe strain, and Conforto will be sidelined until at least May 22. In a corresponding move, the Giants recalled Luis Matos from Triple-A Sacremento. • Michael Conforto (hamstring) remains out Sunday
Michael Conforto (hamstring) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Reds.

Advice: Conforto left Saturday’s game with a hamstring strain, and he’ll sit for at least one contest while recovering from the injury. The 31-year-old sits with Heliot Ramos getting a start in left field. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:08 am

    • Held out for third straight game
Carter (back) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: With lefty Austin Gomber starting for Colorado in Friday's 4-2 loss, Carter was held out of the starting nine, but he logged an at-bat off the bench as a pinch-hitter. He may have tweaked his back at some point during that appearance, however, as he'll remain on the bench for a third straight day. Robbie Grossman will fill in for the banged-up Carter in left field. • Not starting Sunday
Conforto (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Reds, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Conforto left in the bottom of the fourth inning in Saturday's 5-1 win, and Giants manager Bob Melvin described the right hamstring strain as "mild," per John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle. With Conforto out of the lineup Sunday, Heliot Ramos will start in left field while Patrick Bailey serves as the designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:54 am

    • Not starting Sunday
Caballero is out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Caballero struck out all four times he was at the plate in Saturday's 7-2 win and will get a day off to clear his head. Amed Rosario will serve as the Rays' starting shortstop Sunday and will bat sixth against Yankees right-hander Luis Gil. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:47 am
