    • Without return timeline
Trout (knee) said Tuesday that his recovery from meniscus surgery has gone slower than expected and that he's without an official timetable for return, Sam Blum of The Athleticreports.

Advice: The 32-year-old underwent the procedure to repair a torn meniscus in early May and has yet to start up a running program. Trout is currently trying to find exercises that allow him to progress with minimal soreness, so he doesn't appear particularly close to baseball work. Barring a significant improvement in the near future, Trout seems likely to be sidelined well beyond the All-Star break in mid-July. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 4:09 pm

    • Mike Trout (knee) remains without return timeline
Mike Trout (knee) told reporters Tuesday that he hasn’t resumed running and remains without a definitive return timeline.

Advice: Trout added that his recovery from last month’s surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee has been progressing slower than he wants, which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence that he’ll make it back at any point in the near future. The 32-year-old generational talent is roughly six weeks removed from the procedure and there isn’t any sort of timeline for his potential return at this juncture. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:41 pm

    • David Hamilton out Tuesday with side soreness
David Hamilton (side) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Hamilton has rapidly emerged as a relevant fantasy contributor over the last few weeks, batting .323 (31-for-96) with three homers and 14 stolen bases over his last 30 contests. The 26-year-old speedster was removed from Monday’s game against Toronto with left side discomfort, but it doesn’t sound like he’s going to wind up requiring a trip to the injured list at the moment. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:51 pm
    • Starting Tuesday
Yoshida (hand) will DH and bat sixth Tuesday against Toronto, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Advice: Yoshida was hit in the hand by a pitch Sunday and was precautionarily held out of Monday's game against the Blue Jays with lefty Yusei Kikuchi on the mound for Toronto. As expected, Yoshida will be back in action Tuesday, filling his usual DH role. In five games this month, Yoshida is batting 2-for-17 (.118 ) with a double and a run scored. • Called up to big leagues
The Blue Jays recalled Martinez from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Advice: Martinez is taking the roster spot vacated by Bo Bichette (calf), who has landed on the 10-day injured list. It's the first major-league promotion for Martinez, who has slashed .260/.343/.523 with 16 home runs over 63 games this season with Buffalo. The 22-year-old can play second base, third base and shortstop, although he hasn't seen any time at the latter position this season. Martinez should see some action at second and/or third base while Bichette is out, with Isiah Kiner-Falefa likely to settle in at shortstop. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:28 pm

    • Blue Jays recall Orelvis Martinez from Triple-A
Blue Jays recalled INF Orelvis Martinez from Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: It unfortunately took an injury to Bo Bichette (calf) to happen, but Martinez is coming up for a chance to make his MLB debut in the coming days. The 22-year-old is the best hitting prospect in the Toronto system, and he’s socked 16 homers with an .866 OPS thus far for Triple-A Buffalo. He’s alsos truck out 65 times in 63 games, and swing-and-miss is going to likely be an issue. The power is great, but keep in mind that he might be a one-category player in the short term. • Lands on injured list
The Blue Jays placed Bichette on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to June 15, with a right calf strain.

Advice: The 26-year-old hasn't seen the field since Friday due to the calf issue and will be sidelined for at least another week after being diagnosed with a strain. According to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca, manager John Schneider expects Bichette to return from the injured list when first eligible June 25. Isiah Kiner-Falefa is starting at shortstop Tuesday and could operate as Toronto's primary option there for the immediate future, and Orelvis Martinez was called up and should also see infield action while Bichette is sidelined. • Blue Jays place Bo Bichette on IL with calf strain
Blue Jays placed INF Bo Bichette on the 10-day injured list with a right calf strain.

Advice: Bichette has been dealing with soreness in his right calf, and rather than wait for the infielder to get ready and play short-handed, the Blue Jays will take precaution and place the star shortstop on the injured list. He’ll miss at least a week, but a more concrete timeline should be available shortly. In the meantime, Orelvis Martinez is taking Bichette’s place on the active roster. Rotoworld Tuesday, 12:23 pm

    • Bo Bichette (calf) remains out of lineup vs. BOS
Bo Bichette (calf) is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Red Sox.

Advice: Bichette has not been able to play since Friday due to soreness in his right calf. The shortstop has reportedly made progress, but not enough to get him back in the lineup just yet. Isiah Kiner-Falefa gets another start at shortstop with Bichette out. Rotoworld Tuesday, 12:07 pm
