      Michael Wacha was seen in a walking boot in the Royals’ clubhouse following Friday night’s start against the Padres.

      Advice: Wacha was hit in the foot by a line drive by the very first batter during Friday’s start. He wound up staying in the game and giving up just two runs over 5 1/3 innings of work, but was sore after the game. The right-hander told reporters after the game that he’ll get some scans done on Saturday to see if any damage was done, but that he’s hoping for good news.       Mikolas (3-6) took the loss Friday against the Phillies, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: All three of the runs against Mikolas came in the second inning, including a pair on an Edmundo Sosa homer. While Mikolas would blank the Phillies over his final four frames, St. Louis could only muster a pair of runs off Aaron Nola in an eventual 4-2 loss. The 35-year-old Mikolas has started to turn things around after a rough start to the year, delivering quality starts in three of his last four outings. He's lowered his ERA to 5.54 with a 1.32 WHIP and 50:14 K:BB across 65 innings this year. Mikolas is currently lined up for a road matchup with the Astros in his next start.       Miles Mikolas posted a quality start in Friday’s loss to the Phillies, surrendering three runs on five hits across his six frames.

      Advice: Mikolas struck out five batters on the night while issuing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came during a three-run uprising in the second inning as Brandon Marsh plated a run with a ground ball and Edmundo Sosa crushed a two-run homer. He finished his day with four scoreless innings though to keep the Cardinals in the game. The 35-year-old hurler got eight whiffs on 96 pitches in the contest, posting a CSW of 24 percent.       Advice: Hoskins has been on the injured list since he strained his right hamstring during a game against Pittsburgh on May 13. He was originally expected to come off the IL during Milwaukee's upcoming road series in Philadelphia, but the slugging first baseman will instead return a few days early without playing in any rehab games. Hoskins should immediately return to a near-everyday role for the Brewers, though he may see more action as a DH as he gets his hamstring used to playing in games again.       Alexis Díaz escaped with his 11th save after giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the Reds.

      Advice: Díaz got lucky when a pitch that hit both Nick Madigal’s hand and the knob of his bat was ruled a foul ball and was then fortunate again when Madrigal, as the tying run, was thrown out at home plate trying to score on Seiya Suzuki’s double. Díaz has a 5.91 ERA this season. He’s walked 15 and hit three batters in 21 1/3 innings. He’s simply not worthy of trust right now, but since he’s blown only two saves and the Reds don’t have anyone else they’re really wanting to turn to, he’ll probably remain in the closer’s role for now.       Diaz earned the save Friday against the Cubs despite allowing a run on two hits in a walk in the ninth inning.

      Advice: Diaz allowed the first two baserunners to reach safely before surrendering a one-out double to Seiya Suzuki. While one run scored on the play, Jacob Hurtubise would throw out Nick Madrigal at the plate as the tying run before Diaz got Cody Bellinger to fly out, sealing a 5-4 victory. While it didn't come easy for Diaz on Friday, he's now converted four straight save opportunities while allowing just one earned run in his last 5.2 innings.       The Padres are still evaluating Darvish's left hamstring injury and have not ruled out him making his next scheduled start Tuesday versus the Angels, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

      Advice: Darvish had to be lifted from Wednesday's outing against the Marlins after his hamstring tightened up on him. While it's a good sign he hasn't been placed on the 10-day injured list yet, no final determination has been made regarding his status for his next turn or a possible IL stint.
