• Set for season-ending wrist surgery
Encarnacion-Strand will undergo surgery on his right wrist July 11, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The recovery is expected to take three months, effectively ending Encarnacion-Strand's 2024 season. He initially went on the injured list back in early May with a right ulnar styloid fracture, but subsequent testing revealed ligament damage, which he'll need surgery to address. Encarnacion-Strand's season will conclude with him having slashed only .190/.220/.293 with two home runs in 29 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:28 pm

  • CES set to undergo season-ending hand surgery
Christian Encarnacion-Strand will undergo season-ending right hand surgery on July 11.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand has been out since late April after suffering ligament damage in his right hand when he was hit by a pitch. The 24-year-old slugger’s decision to undergo surgery to repair a ulnar styloid fracture on the inside of his hand near his wrist, will keep him sidelined until early October, and is basically going to end his season. He can be safely dropped in all re-draft formats, but is obviously worth stashing in all keeper and dynasty league formats. It’s unclear how he’ll rebound next year after ostensibly missing an entire season due to injury. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:22 pm

  • Ends slump Monday
Perez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Perez had gone 0-for-14 over his previous four games, and he'd gone seven contests without an extra-base hit. Both droughts ended when the catcher went back-to-back with Vinnie Pasquantino in the fourth inning, with Perez's homer serving as the decisive run. A poor June -- 11-for-57 (.157) over 20 games -- has taken some of the shine off of what was a strong start to the year for Perez. He's now slashing .280/.352/.462 with 12 homers, 46 RBI, 29 runs scored and 15 doubles through 77 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:55 am

Perez has struck out 20 times with only eight walks in June. He was hitting .321 at the end of May, but now sits at .280 with a .814 OPS on the season. Rotoworld Monday, 7:49 pm

  • Slugs two-run homer
Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday in a loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Alonso gave New York a two-run lead with his blast to center field in the sixth inning, but Texas was able to mount a comeback and pull off the victory. The long ball continued a hot stretch for the first baseman, as he's in the midst of a five-game hitting streak during which he's batted .391 (9-for-23) with two homers and 10 RBI. Alonso is up to 16 home runs and 42 RBI on the campaign along with 42 runs and a .243/.321/.475 slash line. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:47 pm

  • Pete Alonso homers in loss
Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer on Wednesday against the Rangers.

Advice: The Mets offense was finally held in check after a chaotically-successful week powered by a particular McDonalds’ universe character. Still, Alonso seems to be heating up with a four-game RBI streak. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:52 pm

  • Stays hot Tuesday
Alonso went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Rangers.

Advice: The 29-year-old has reached base 10 times in the last four games, with three of his eight hits during that stretch going for extra bases (two doubles and a homer). Alonso is slashing .274/.366/.500 through 15 games in June with three home runs and 13 RBI as he looks to record his third straight 40-homer campaign. He currently has 15 round trippers. • On base four times in rout
Alonso went 3-for-5 with a walk, a run scored and two RBI in Monday's win over the Rangers.

Advice: The first baseman kept the line moving for the Mets in a 14-2 rout. Alonso still isn't supplying his usual power, but he's picked up the pace a bit in June, slashing .259/.348/.483 through 14 games with four doubles, three homers, nine runs and 12 RBI. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:13 am

  • Goes deep in loss
Turner went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, two runs scored and a walk in Monday's loss to Boston.

Advice: Turner scored Toronto's first run after drawing a walk in the second inning. He later ripped a solo shot in the sixth inning for his fifth home run of the year. He snapped a 33-game homerless drought, during which he slashed .155/.250/.191. Turner now owns a .691 OPS with 18 extra-base hits and 24 runs scored through 233 plate appearances.
