• Strikes out seven Friday
Assad didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Reds, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Both of the runs charged to Assad came in the fourth inning when the Reds strung together three straight singles. Still, it was a positive effort for Assad overall after he'd given up seven runs (six earned) over 9.2 innings in his previous two outings, though he now has seven or more strikeouts in three of his last four starts. Overall, the 26-year-old right-hander is 4-1 with a 2.27 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 61:26 K:BB through 63.1 innings this season. Assad's currently in line for a rematch with Cincinnati on the road in his next start. Rotowire.com Today, 2:51 pm

  • Javier Assad strikes out seven in no-decision
Javier Assad wasn’t involved in the decision after allowing two runs over 5 2/3 innings Friday against the Reds.

Advice: Assad struck out seven and kept the ball in the yard today after allowing two homers in each of his previous two starts. He left with a one-run lead in the sixth, but that disappeared in the seventh. He’ll face the Reds again in his next start, though it will be in Cincinnati this time. While Assad is worth using most of the time in mixed leagues right now, that’s not a great play, especially since he’s due to be matched up with Hunter Greene. Rotoworld Today, 2:40 pm

  • Héctor Neris allows run in ninth
Brought in with the Cubs down one in the top of the ninth, Héctor Neris gave up a run and two hits Friday against the Reds.

Advice: It’s the second straight outing in which Neris has allowed a run, and it proved to be a pretty big run after the Cubs scored once in the bottom of the ninth. Neris’s peripherals are still awful — he has a 16/15 K/BB in 20 innings — but so far, his only two blown saves haven’t cost the Cubs (the team won both games). He’ll probably need a costly blown save before the Cubs turn things over to Mark Leiter Jr. Rotoworld Today, 2:40 pm

  • Masyn Winn not in lineup Friday
Masyn Winn is not in the lineup for the Cardinals’ game against the Phillies on Friday.

Advice: Winn is riding an 18-game hitting streak, but finds himself on the bench to begin Friday’s game. Brandon Crawford will start against Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola. Winn is hitting .308 with two home runs with 49 games. Rotoworld Today, 10:24 am
  • Getting breather Friday
Winn is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Philadelphia.

Advice: Winn is riding an 18-game hit streak, but he will be given a day of rest as the Cardinals open a weekend series against the Phillies. Brandon Crawford will handle the shortstop duties. Rotowire.com Today, 10:10 am
  • Swipes fourth bag
Albies went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Atlanta's offense remains in a funk, managing only five hits and one run Thursday, but Albies has been one of the few consistent bright spots in the lineup of late. The second baseman's hit safely in six straight games, and since May 13 he's slashing .313/.375/.391. Albies still isn't providing much power -- he hasn't homered in 19 straight games and has only three long balls on the year -- but he has contributed four steals, 25 runs and 25 RBI through 46 contests. • Ozzie Albies reaches three teams, steals base
Ozzie Albies reached three times and stole a base in a loss Thursday to the Nationals.

Advice: Albies doubled, singled and drew a walk to complete that three-reach game. The stolen base is the fourth for the 27-year-old, and it’s possible we see him take off more often over the final 100-plus games of the season, but far from a guarantee. It’d also be nice to see more pop from a hitter that hit 33 homers last year, as he’s still stuck on three roundtrippers over 184 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:00 pm
  • Notches sixth hold
Floro worked a scoreless two-thirds of an inning Wednesday to record his sixth hold of the season in a win over Atlanta.

Advice: The veteran right-hander saw a 20-appearance scoreless streak end May 26 against the Mariners, but Floro has overall been a key part of the Nationals' bullpen this season. Through 27 innings, he sports a 1.00 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB, and he's been the team's most reliable reliever behind the high-leverage duo of Kyle Finnegan and Hunter Harvey. • Racks up three hits in win
Winn went 3-for-4 with one RBI in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Reds.

Advice: Winn extended his hitting streak to 16 games with Wednesday's strong effort out of the No. 8 spot in the order. He's gone 23-for-61 (.377) with eight extra-base hits, 11 RBI and two stolen bases during the streak. Winn is up to a .308/.358/.440 slash line with two homers, seven steals, 18 RBI, 16 runs scored, 11 doubles and two triples over 49 contests this season. He's seen some looks at leadoff versus left-handed pitchers, but he remains deeper in the order for now against right-handers. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:23 pm
