    • Bryson Stott goes hitless against Giants
Bryson Stott, who didn’t start Monday, went 0-for-4 in the loss to the Giants on Tuesday.

Advice: Stott has run extremely hot and cold this season, posting a .559 OPS over his first 25 games and a 1.242 OPS over his subsequent 18 games. Now he’s back in another drought, having gone 2-for-28 in his last eight games. The good news is that he’s struck out just three times during that span. He still projects as a useful MI in mixed leagues going forward. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago

    • Joey Meneses has three hits in loss to Braves
Joey Meneses went 3-for-3 in a loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Advice: All three of Meneses’ hits were singles, but the 32-year-old is now 10-for-32 (.313) over his last eight games with a home run and three RBI. However, he was also on the bench on Monday against a right-handed pitcher with Lane Thomas back off the injured list, so it’s possible Menses is entering into a weak-side platoon situation that would destroy his fantasy value. Keep an eye on the next few Nationals’ lineups just to make sure. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:06 pm

    • Merrill Kelly (shoulder) set to resume throwing
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Merrill Kelly (shoulder) will start a throwing program next week.

Advice: Kelly has been out since late April due to a right shoulder strain and is going to require several weeks of bullpen sessions and rehab starts before he’s an option for Arizona again. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:52 pm

    • Geraldo Perdomo (knee) nearing rehab assignment
Geraldo Perdomo (knee) is close to starting a minor league rehab assignment.

Advice: Perdomo will head to the nearby Rookie-level Arizona Complex League for a handful of contests before shifting to facing some higher-level competition at Triple-A Reno. The 24-year-old shortstop has been out since early April recovering from surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:50 pm

    • Nearing throwing program
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Kelly (shoulder) is expected to begin a throwing program next week, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: The right-hander has apparently been progressing well in his recovery from a right shoulder strain and is now on the cusp of resuming baseball work. Kelly will require some time to build his arm up before progressing to mound work and eventually a rehab assignment, so he shouldn't be expected to rejoin the Diamondbacks until sometime in July. • Nearing game action
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Perdomo (knee) is expected to play in live games "very, very shortly," Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old has already taken live at-bats but has yet to run thus bases, so he still has a bit of work to do in his rehab program before seeing game action. Lovullo said in mid-May that Perdomo was expected to return from the injured list in a couple weeks, but it instead appears the shortstop's absence will extend into June. • Officially placed on injured list
The Pirates placed Perez on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left groin strain.

Advice: Perez injured his groin while covering first base during Sunday's start against Atlanta. He initially remained in the game before eventually being pulled. It's not clear at this point how long the southpaw might be sidelined. Quinn Priester will likely be recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to replace Perez in the Pirates rotation. • Martin Pérez officially heads to IL with groin injury
Pirates placed LHP Martin Pérez on the 15-day injured list with a left groin strain.

Advice: As expected, Pérez will miss at least two weeks while he deals with the groin injury that caused him to leave his start Sunday versus Atlanta. Pittsburgh didn’t add a pitcher as the corresponding transaction, but they’ll need to make a move to replace the southpaw in the rotation. Quinn Priester is likely that arm. • Headed to injured list
Pirates manager Derek Shelton said Tuesday in an interview with 93.7 The Fan Pittsburgh that Perez (groin) will be placed on the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Perez suffered a left groin injury during Sunday's start against Atlanta, and while the severity is unclear at the moment, it's evidently bad enough that the left-hander will be sidelined for at least a couple weeks. Quinn Priester looms as an obvious candidate to replace Perez in the Pittsburgh rotation. Perez's next turn will come up Sunday in Toronto. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:21 am
