    • Willy Adames doubles three times versus Cards
Willy Adames doubled three times and knocked in two runs Friday versus the Cardinals.

Advice: Not only is Adames exceeding expectations with his .265/.351/.476 line, but his seven steals are just one off his career high. Last year, he was 5-for-8 stealing bases in 149 games. This year, he’s 7-for-8 in 38 games. We wouldn’t expect him to keep that up, but it’s hard not to view him as a top-10 shortstop at this point. Rotoworld Friday, 9:38 pm

    • Laces three doubles
Adames went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's victory over St. Louis.

Advice: Adames managed to collect all three of his doubles off different Cardinals pitchers -- Lance Lynn in the second inning, Matthew Liberatore in the fifth and Kyle Leahy in the seventh. With his effort Friday night, the Brewers shortstop has already reached double digits in the category, sporting 10 doubles on the season. Overall, Adames is slashing .265/.351/.476 with seven home runs, 23 runs scored and 27 RBI over 168 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:00 pm

    • Giants place Nick Ahmed (wrist) on 10-day IL
Giants placed INF Nick Ahmed on the 10-day injured list with a left wrist sprain.

Advice: The 34-year-old shortstop sustained the injury on April 27 when he was hit by a 108-mph line drive against the Rockies. He’ll sit for a couple of weeks and hope that the time off takes care of things. Casey Schmitt was recalled from Triple-A Sacremento in a corresponding move on Friday. Rotoworld Friday, 3:44 pm

    • Headed to IL
The Giants placed Ahmed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a left wrist sprain.

Advice: Ahmed appeared to have sustained the injury on an awkward swing during an at-bat in the third inning during Thursday's game against Atlanta. Tyler Fitzgerald pinch hit for Ahmed in his next plate appearance. Casey Schmitt, who was called up from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move, is starting at shortstop and batting seventh for Friday's game against the Reds, per Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area. • Nick Ahmed to undergo imaging on left wrist
Nick Ahmed will undergo additional imaging on his left wrist.

Advice: Ahmed was lifted from Thursday’s showdown against the Rockies with left wrist discomfort stemming from when he was hit by a 108-mph line drive back on April 27. It certainly sounds like a trip to the injured list to rest and recover could be in the cards for the 34-year-old defensive specialist. It would presumably be former top prospect Marco Luciano getting the call back to the majors if he winds up requiring an extended absence. Rotoworld Thursday, 3:46 pm

    • Exits with wrist injury
Ahmed was removed from Thursday's game against the Rockies due to left wrist discomfort, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Ahmed took an awkward-looking swing during his first at-bat, and he was later pinch hit for by Tyler Fitzgerald in the fourth inning. The Giants didn't specify the severity of Ahmed's injury, though it's possible the 34-year-old shortstop sits out another game or two as a precaution. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:46 pm

    • Nick Ahmed leaves game with wrist discomfort
Nick Ahmed was removed from Thursday’s game against the Rockies with left wrist discomfort.

Advice: Ahmed was forced to leave Thursday’s showdown after an awkward swing earlier in the contest. The 34-year-old defensive wizard’s absence would likely result in former top prospect Marco Luciano coming back to the majors, if he winds up requiring a trip to the injured list. • Plays hero with ninth-inning homer
Adames went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Adames stepped up to the plate with Gary Sanchez and William Contreras aboard with two outs and the Brewers down 5-3, smacking a laser over the left-field wall for the go-ahead homer. The long ball was Adames' fourth in the last seven games, a stretch in which he's racked up 12 RBI and scored six times. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:24 pm

    • Willy Adames homers in ninth to lead Brewers
Willy Adames hit a three-run homer in the top of the ninth to propel the Brewers to a 6-5 win over the Royals on Tuesday.

Advice: The homer was Adames’s seventh through 35 games and pushed him up to 25 RBI. He’s typically a slow starter, so this early season performance has been particularly encouraging. He’s at .257/.346/.463 right now. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:49 pm
