  • Gives up first runs of campaign
Treinen (2-1) took the loss and was charged with a blown save Saturday against Kansas City. He allowed four runs on one hit and three walks while striking out one batter over two-thirds of an inning.

Advice: Treinen had been dominant coming into Saturday, posting a 19:2 K:BB over 13 scoreless innings across 14 appearances. However, he struggled with his control against the Royals, issuing three straight one-out walks. It appeared Treinen might get out of the jam when he fanned Adam Frazier for the second out of the frame and then backed MJ Melendez into a 1-2 count, but Melendez put together a brilliant 12-pitch at-bat that included six straight two-strike foul balls before launching a grand slam. Treinen's ERA jumped to 2.63 due to the poor outing, but given his overall body of work this season, he should continue to be a high-leverage option for the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Today, 8:57 am
  • Sent back to Triple-A
The Marlins optioned Anderson to Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.

Advice: Miami sent Anderson back to Triple-A just one day after he was called up from Jacksonville to make a spot start in the series opener versus the Nationals. The 29-year-old lasted just two innings in the Marlins' 8-1 loss, giving up seven earned runs on 10 hits. The Marlins will still need to fill the vacant No. 5 spot in their rotation Wednesday versus the Cardinals, but the team called up Kent Emanuel from Triple-A to provide a fresh arm out of the bullpen in the meantime. • Joins big-league bullpen
The Marlins selected Emanuel's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.

Advice: Despite being lit up for 12 earned runs in just two innings in his latest outing for Jacksonville to bring his season-long ERA at Triple-A up to 6.60, Emanuel got the call to the majors with Miami looking to add a fresh arm to its bullpen. Shaun Anderson was optioned to Jacksonville in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 8:35 am
  • Cardinals bring back Ryan Loutos from Memphis
Cardinals recalled RHP Ryan Loutos from Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Loutos is up to take the roster spot of Kyle Gibson with Gibson going on the bereavement list. He’ll likely head back to Memphis when Gibson returns in no more than three days. Rotoworld Today, 8:19 am
  • Atlanta options Kerr to Triple-A Gwinnett
Braves optioned LHP Ray Kerr to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Advice: Kerr has made the trip from Gwinnett to Atlanta and vice versa a couple of times in 2024, and that is likely to continue through the campaign. He’s down to make room for Grant Holmes after Holmes had his contract selected from Gwinnett in the corresponding transaction. Rotoworld Today, 8:04 am
  • Summoned from Triple-A
The Cardinals recalled Loutos from Triple-A Memphis on Sunday.

Advice: He'll begin his second stint of the season with the big club after he received his first call-up May 20 and made two scoreless appearances out of the bullpen before being sent back to Memphis on June 4. Loutos is likely to handle a low-leverage relief role while he's up with the Cardinals. Rotowire.com Today, 7:44 am
  • Sent out to Triple-A
Atlanta optioned Kerr to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Atlanta will swap the left-handed Kerr out of its bullpen for a right-hander in Grant Holmes, whose contract was selected from Gwinnett in a corresponding move. After making a pair of spot starts in late May, Kerr shifted into a relief role this month and gave up three earned runs on eight hits and four walks over 5.1 innings spanning four appearances. • Narrowly misses quality start
Blach (3-4) picked up the win over the Pirates on Saturday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Blach was effective early, striking out the first two batters he faced in the contest and going 1-2-3 through the first two frames. He would go on to surrender a solo homer to Nick Gonzales in the fourth and a second run in the sixth, but the lefty was able to hang out to earn his fourth win of the season and his first in the month of June. Blach has gone at least five innings in five straight outings, issuing multiple walks only one time over that stretch. However, he's also given up at least seven hits in three consecutive starts. • Stuck with loss Saturday
Walker (4-3) allowed an unearned run on a hit and a walk with one strikeout over one inning to take the loss Saturday versus the Angels.

Advice: Walker's scoreless streak ended at 5.1 innings, though a two-out throwing error by Curt Casali contributed to the Giants giving up the decisive run in the seventh inning. Walker has allowed four runs (three earned) over 7.1 innings in June, and he's added four holds this month as he continues to see an increasingly large high-leverage role. He's at a 2.48 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 46:7 K:BB with 13 holds over 36.1 innings this season. While it hasn't happened yet in 2024, Walker would likely be next in line for save chances whenever Camilo Doval is unavailable, as Tyler Rogers has typically struggled when given ninth-inning assignments.
