  • Swipes two bags
Kim went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two stolen bases in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Reds.

Advice: Kim seemingly has a green light to run right now -- he's logged five steals over his last five games, going 5-for-15 with five walks in that span. The shortstop is up to 13 thefts on 14 attempts this season, putting him roughly on pace to match his total of 38 steals in 2023. Kim has added a .216/.335/.369 slash line with six home runs, 22 RBI, 25 runs scored, four doubles and two triples over 52 games, but his recent hitting suggests he may be turning things around. Kim still figures to hit in the bottom half of the order most of the time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:47 pm

  • Ha-Seong Kim steals two bags against Reds
Ha-Seong Kim stole two bases while going 1-for-3 with a walk against the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: Kim was also thrown out stealing for the second time this season, but the pair of thefts do bring his season total to 13. That’s a solid number, obviously, but his .216/.335/.369 slash has left a lot to be desired. Despite those poor numbers he does have six homers and 22 RBI, so we’ll call Kim’s 2024 campaign a mixed bag. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:32 pm

  • Edmundo Sosa has three hits in win over Rangers
Edmundo Sosa went 3-for-4 in a win Thursday over the Rangers.

Advice: Sosa hasn’t gotten much attention in 2024, but it’s probably time for that to change. The three-hit afternoon pushes the 28-year-old’s average up to .323, and he’s slugging .548 to show he’s not just dinking-and-dunking the baseball. It’s only a sample of 58 at-bats, but he’s likely earned more playing time based on what he’s done so far in 2024. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:20 pm
  • Homer, double in win
Winn went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Winn's seventh-inning solo shot ended up being the difference in this game. The shortstop is on a roll, having hit safely in his last 11 games. During that span, he's gone 15-for-41 (.366) with two homers, seven RBI and two stolen bases. He's up to a .295/.348/.432 slash line over 157 plate appearances this season, and he's now hit leadoff against the last two southpaws the Cardinals have faced. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:02 am
  • Retreats to bench Thursday
Short is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Austin Riley (side) remains out of the lineup for a 10th consecutive game, but after starting each of the previous nine games in Riley's stead, Short will give way to Luke Williams at third base Thursday. Atlanta is still seemingly viewing Riley as day-to-day, so Short's run of regular playing time at the hot corner could come to an end as soon as this weekend in Pittsburgh. • Leads off against lefty again
Monasterio started at second base and went 0-for-4 in Wednesday's 1-0 loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Monasterio started in each of the Brewers' three games in Miami and led off the past two contests, reaching base four times while contributing a home run and a stolen base during that stretch. Milwaukee faced lefty starters in each of those contests, so while Monasterio looks like he'll remain a key part of the lineup in those matchups, he's still operating in the short side of a platoon at second base with the lefty-hitting Brice Turang. • Exiting starting nine Thursday
Luciano is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Luciano has taken the reins at shortstop since Nick Ahmed (wrist) landed on the 10-day injured list May 10, with the 22-year-old having started each of the last five games while going 6-for-17 with two doubles and three doubles. He'll likely still continue to see the bulk of the reps at shortstop sans Ahmed, but Luciano will give way to Brett Wisely in the series finale. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:43 am
  • Swats three-run homer
Sosa went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Wednesday's 11-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: The shortstop tagged Jonathan Hernandez for a round-tripper in the fourth inning, plating Nick Castellanos and Brandon Marsh. The long ball was Sosa's second of the campaign and his first in 51 at-bats, dating back to April 7. Since Trea Turner (hamstring) was placed on the injured list May 4, Sosa is 11-for-37 (.297) with 12 runs and nine RBI. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:33 pm
  • Masyn Winn slugs solo homer in Cardinals’ win
Masyn Winn went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Wednesday, lifting the Cardinals to a 5-4 victory over the Orioles.

Advice: Winn helped the Cardinals emerge victorious in a battle of the birds at rain-soaked Busch Stadium, supplying a pivotal insurance run with a seventh-inning homer off Orioles reliever Cole Irvin. It was his second round-tripper of the season and second time he’s gone deep in his last five contests. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:51 pm
