  • Crushed for 10 runs in second loss
Imanaga (7-2) took the loss to the Mets on Friday, allowing 10 runs on 11 eleven hits and one walk with three strikeouts over three innings.

Advice: Imanaga was hit hard early and often, surrendering six runs on three home runs in the first two innings and another run in the third. He was unable to record an out in the fourth frame and was charged with three more runs, resulting in the worst outing of his major-league career. In total, Imanaga allowed 11 hard-hit balls, as the velocity on each of his pitches was at least one mph below his season averages. Imanaga's ERA rose from 1.89 to 2.96 with a 1.10 WHIP and 81:12 K:BB over 79 innings. He'll look to rebound in a tentative matchup with the Giants next week. Rotowire.com Today, 3:10 pm
  • Zac Gallen to throw another sim game on Monday
Zac Gallen (hamstring) is expected to throw around 70 pitches in another simulated game on Monday.

Advice: Assuming all goes well with that session, the expectation is that he’ll rejoin the Diamondbacks’ rotation next weekend against the Athletics. The 28-year-old hurler had posted a 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and a 60/15 K/BB ratio over 57 2/3 innings through his first 11 starts. Rotoworld Today, 3:03 pm
  • Dodgers promote Landon Knack for Friday start
Dodgers recalled RHP Landon Knack from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: The 26-year-old right-hander will start in the opener of the team’s two-game Freeway Series against the Angels on Friday night. If he pitches well, he could stick around for a while with both Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Walker Buehler on the injured list. Knack has pitched very well in four starts for the Dodgers this season, posting a 2.61 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and a 16/6 K/BB ratio across 20 2/3 innings. J.P. Feyereisen was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 2:54 pm
  • Headed back to minors
The Padres optioned Mazur to Triple-A El Paso following Thursday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: The move corresponds with southpaw Tom Cosgrove being recalled from Triple-A El Paso. Mazur was called up to the Padres' rotation June 4 due to Yu Darvish (groin) landing on the injured list. Over his four major-league starts, Mazur has an 0-2 record with a 7.27 ERA and 1.96 WHIP, and he has failed to make it through five innings over his last three starts. The 23-year-old right-hander hasn't had it much better in Triple-A this year, posting a 7.11 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 19 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 2:43 pm
  • Jose Quintana strikes out eight in beating Cubs
Jose Quintana held the Cubs to an unearned run over 6 1/3 innings and struck out eight in Friday’s win.

Advice: After the Mets scored three runs in the top of the first, the Cubs, aided by a Mark Vientos error, appeared poised to come right back, loading the bases with no outs in the bottom of the inning. Alas, that’s not the way it worked out. Christopher Morel grounded into a run-scoring double play, and it proved to be the only run the Cubs would get all day. It’s the first time this season Quintana has gone without allowing an earned run. It’s also the second straight start in which he’s topped his season high for strikeouts; he hadn’t had more than four before fanning six Padres last week. Back-to-back victories have moved him to 3-5 with a 4.58 ERA. Rotoworld Today, 2:36 pm
  • Shota Imanaga gives up 10 runs, 11 hits to Mets
Shota Imanaga was tagged for 10 runs and 11 hits in 3 1/3 innings by the Mets on Friday.

Advice: With his velocity down 1-2 mph on all of his pitches, Imanaga was crushed today, giving up three homers and 11 hard-hit balls in all. He was effective in his previous two starts, but this makes three out of five outings in which he’s struggled; he’s allowed 21 earned runs in those five outings after giving up a total of five in his first nine starts. The velocity is something to watch; he’s been really effective throwing at 92 mph at the top of the zone, but 90 mph might not get it done there. Rotoworld Today, 2:36 pm
  • Another Triple-A appearance coming
Hoeing (hamstring) is scheduled to throw three innings at Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Advice: Hoeing has made a pair of appearances at Triple-A after resuming his assignment following a brief shutdown in late May. However, he's allowed four runs (three earned) with one strikeout across 2.2 innings with Jacksonville and will require at least one more outing before being activated. Rotowire.com Today, 1:45 pm

  • Another rehab start on tap
Cabrera (shoulder) allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit and one walk with four strikeouts across three innings at Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday. He's scheduled to pitch again Tuesday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Advice: Although Cabrera was pegged for the loss Wednesday, he turned in a quality showing in his first minor-league rehab appearance. The 26-year-old is expected to throw four innings or roughly 60 pitches Tuesday as the Marlins work to get Cabrera stretched out and ready to rejoin the big-league rotation. It's unclear if he'll require another appearance at Jacksonville before being activated. Rotowire.com Today, 1:41 pm
  • Sent on rehab assignment
Perez (groin) will pitch for Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Perez has been steadily progressing since being placed on the IL in late May with a strained left groin, and he will take the last step of his recovery by starting a rehab assignment. Per Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com, Perez is expected to throw roughly 75 pitches Saturday as his only rehab start. Prior to the injury, Perez held a 4.71 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP across 57.1 innings with Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Today, 11:48 am
