  • Monday return confirmed
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Turner (hamstring) will be reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Turner has been on the shelf since May 4 with a left hamstring strain, but he'll rejoin the big club without requiring a minor-league rehab assignment beforehand after the Phillies came away from his recent workouts convinced enough that he's at or near full health. Once he's formally activated from the IL ahead of Monday's game against the Padres, Turner should settle back in as the Phillies' everyday shortstop, pushing Edmundo Sosa back into a utility role. Sosa performed well during Turner's extended absence, and Thomson recently floated the possibility of Sosa seeing some looks in the outfield once Turner is back in the fold. Rotowire.com 1 minute ago

  • Sent back to Triple-A
The Marlins optioned Anderson to Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.

Advice: Miami sent Anderson back to Triple-A just one day after he was called up from Jacksonville to make a spot start in the series opener versus the Nationals. The 29-year-old lasted just two innings in the Marlins' 8-1 loss, giving up seven earned runs on 10 hits. The Marlins will still need to fill the vacant No. 5 spot in their rotation Wednesday versus the Cardinals, but the team called up Kent Emanuel from Triple-A to provide a fresh arm out of the bullpen in the meantime. • Trea Turner (hamstring) to be activated Monday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters before Sunday’s game that Trea Turner (hamstring) will be activated off the injured list before Monday’s game against the Padres.

Advice: There was some talk that Turner could be back Sunday, but Philadelphia will get the 30-year-old one more day before he’s back in action. The star shortstop’s return is a big boost for both fantasy managers and the Phillies. The only question will be how much the speedy infielder will run after missing so much time with his hamstring injury. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

  • Joins big-league bullpen
The Marlins selected Emanuel's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.

Advice: Despite being lit up for 12 earned runs in just two innings in his latest outing for Jacksonville to bring his season-long ERA at Triple-A up to 6.60, Emanuel got the call to the majors with Miami looking to add a fresh arm to its bullpen. Shaun Anderson was optioned to Jacksonville in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago
  • Two doubles, stolen base in win
McMahon went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's win over the Pirates.

Advice: McMahon doubled in his third trip to the plate and advanced to third on a sacrifice fly before then stealing home to increase Colorado's lead to five runs. The third baseman would add an RBI double in the eighth, giving him his sixth multi-base hit over his last four games. McMahon has also recorded multiple hits and scored two runs in three of his last four contests. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

  • Not starting Sunday
Winker (knee) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Winker required an MRI after exiting Saturday's 4-0 win with a right knee injury, and while the results of his medical tests haven't yet been revealed, he'll be forced to miss out on at least one start. With Winker out of the lineup Sunday, Ildemaro Vargas will pick up a start in left field. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

  • Sitting against lefty
Gordon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Gordon will sit for the fourth time in five games, with the Marlins having faced left-handed starting pitchers on each of those four occasions. He'll cede his spot in the lineup to Emmanuel Rivera as the Marlins stock up on an extra right-handed bat to counter Nationals southpaw Mitchell Parker. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

  • Sharing work with Bethancourt
Fortes will start at catcher and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Fortes appeared to be taking control of the Marlins' No. 1 catching job earlier this month, but he's fallen back into more of a timeshare with Christian Bethancourt of late, with both backstops having now made two starts apiece over the last four contests. The downturn in playing time comes while Fortes has turned in a .120/.154/.120 slash line through 10 games in June. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago
  • Cardinals bring back Ryan Loutos from Memphis
Cardinals recalled RHP Ryan Loutos from Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Loutos is up to take the roster spot of Kyle Gibson with Gibson going on the bereavement list. He’ll likely head back to Memphis when Gibson returns in no more than three days. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago
