    • Getting day off Wednesday
Grissom is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Rays.

Advice: Grissom had started each of the previous eight contests and nine of 10 games since returning from the injured list, but he'll begin this one on the bench as the Red Sox square off against Taj Bradley and the Rays. The 23-year-old Grissom has gotten off to a slow start, going just 5-for-37 with a 7:0 K:BB. David Hamilton will draw a start at second base Wednesday. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

    • Dominates again Tuesday
Miller, who'd pitched just once in the previous 11 games entering Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Astros, threw 14 fastballs of at least 100.5 mph on his 29 pitches during his two scoreless innings, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Miller's arm was clearly fresh, and manager Mark Kotsay deployed his closer for multiple innings in the tie game as a result. Miller rewarded him by recording five strikeouts -- including of the noteworthy trio of Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez and Jeremy Pena -- over his 29 pitches. The elite velocity helped Miller to his 13th straight scoreless outing and extended his career-high scoreless streak to 17.1 innings. The improved but still inconsistent Athletics have afforded Miller just eight save chances among his 14 appearances, but he's converted each and now boasts a minuscule 0.98 ERA and 0.65 WHIP alongside a 38:5 K:BB across 18.1 innings. • Makes return to lineup
Realmuto (knee) will start at catcher and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Realmuto will re-enter the starting nine after sitting out each of the past three games while managing a sore right knee. Provided he doesn't experience any setbacks in his return to action, Realmuto should resume handling one of the heftier workloads in the league among No. 1 catchers, though it wouldn't be surprising if the Phillies gave him a breather later this week or had him serve as a designated hitter for a game. • Scratched from lineup
India was a late scratch from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Arizona due to a migraine, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Spencer Steer will shift to second base to cover for India, while Jacob Hurtubise will enter the lineup in left field. Consider India day-to-day for the time being. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

    • Back in action Wednesday
Harper (migraine) will start at first base and bat third in Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Harper will make his return to the lineup after sitting out Tuesday's 4-0 win with what was apparently a minor migraine. Alec Bohm filled in at first base but will move back to his usual post at third base Wednesday to accommodate Harper. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • Draws start at second base Tuesday
Caminero made his first start of the season at second base with Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

Advice: It came on the same day Brandon Lowe visited a specialist due to continued concerns with his right oblique. Lowe ultimately received good news and the expectation is that he will be able to resume his rehab assignment soon. However, it's notable that the Rays seem to be prepping Caminero as a contingency plan at second base, a position he hadn't started a game at since 2022. Caminero went 3-for-6 with a home run in Tuesday's contest and is slashing a robust .316/.385/.582 with seven long balls on the season. Prior to Tuesday, he had been exclusively playing third base for Durham. The top prospect is certainly pushing for a promotion sooner rather than later. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago
    • J.T. Realmuto returns from sore knee
J.T. Realmuto is back in the Phillies lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Mets.

Advice: He’s catching and batting second tonight after missing the last three games with knee soreness. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

    • Cleared for activity
Walls (hip) reported to the Rays' spring training facility in Port Charlotte, Fla. earlier this week and will go through workouts for the next 10-to-14 days before beginning a rehab assignment, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: According to Topkin, Walls will be going through a modified version of his own spring training while he builds up stamina and stacks up at-bats as he works his way back from the surgery he required last October to address a labral tear in his right hip. The Rays opted to shut Walls down in late April for two weeks after he experienced renewed inflammation in his hip, and the 27-year-old seemingly responded well to the extra time off. Since he's been on the injured list all season, Walls will presumably in store for an extended minor-league rehab assignment, making it unlikely that he's activated before the end of May. Whenever he's ready to go, Walls could threaten Jose Caballero for everyday duties at shortstop. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago

    • Scoreless rehab frame Tuesday
Alexander (ribs) fired a scoreless seventh inning in Triple-A Las Vegas' win over El Paso on Tuesday, recording a strikeout.

Advice: The left-hander had failed to record an out while giving up five total runs in his most recent rehab outing Friday, so the scoreless frame Tuesday was a particularly welcome sight. Alexander might be ready to return from his long IL stint at any moment, and perhaps Tuesday's clean outing will qualify as the final box that needed checking before the Athletics deem him ready for activation.
