    • Lands on IL with groin strain
The Reds placed Lodolo on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left groin strain.

Advice: It's not clear whether Lodolo was injured during his most recent start Saturday versus the Giants or sometime since then, but either way, he's going to be on the shelf at least for the next couple weeks. The left-hander has been excellent this season, posting a 3.34 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB through 35 innings over six starts. Nick Martinez would appear to be the most likely candidate to fill Lodolo's spot in the rotation, which comes up again Thursday versus the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Today, 10:11 am

    • Nick Lodolo goes on injured list with calf strain
Reds placed LHP Nick Lodolo on the 15-day injured list with a strained left groin.

Advice: Lodolo still hasn’t had any arm problems as a major leaguer, but the rest of his body keeps betraying him. The 26-year-old was looking like a potential All-Star with his 3.34 ERA and 43/9 K/BB ratio in six starts since returning from his last round of problems with his left leg. Nick Martinez could return to the rotation in his place. Rotoworld Today, 10:07 am

    • Tosses bullpen Monday
Musgrove (elbow) threw a "light" bullpen session Monday, per MLB.com.

Advice: This was Musgrove's first bullpen since going on the 15-day IL due to right elbow inflammation in early May. The right-hander is expected to throw another bullpen Wednesday, and if that goes well, he could return to the Padres' rotation without needing a rehab stint. Musgrove is tracking toward making his next start during San Diego's May 17-20 series in Atlanta. Rotowire.com Today, 10:03 am

    • Rare day off Wednesday
Garcia is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Garcia's only other day off this season came in the second game of a doubleheader. He will give way to Adam Frazier on Wednesday, both at third base and in the leadoff spot. Rotowire.com Today, 9:47 am

    • Gets fourth straight start
Chourio will start in left field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Chourio was on the bench for a stretch of four straight games from last Wednesday through Saturday, but he's now picked up starts in each of the subsequent four contests. Though he's reached base only twice over his last nine contests and carries a weak .579 OPS for the season into Wednesday's game, Chourio could nonetheless continue to see near-everyday playing time while Jake Bauers sees less time in the corner outfield and fills in at first base for the injured Rhys Hoskins (hamstring). Additionally, the struggling Blake Perkins -- who sat against right-handed starting pitchers both of the previous two days -- seems to have moved into more of a fourth-outfielder role of late. • Justin Turner (illness) available off bench
Justin Turner remains out of the Blue Jays lineup Wednesday due to illness, though he is available off the bench.

Advice: Daniel Vogelbach is getting the start at DH. It’s a third straight missed start for Turner. Rotoworld Today, 8:32 am

    • Power trending up
Arozarena went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Arozarena slugged his eighth home run of the season and fifth in his last 11 games. He's also stolen three bags in that span. While his counting stats have been trending positively, Arozarena has still struck out at a 31.5 percent clip in May, leading to a .205 batting average for the month. Rotowire.com Today, 7:35 am
    • Remains out Wednesday
Turner (illness) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Baltimore.

Advice: Turner is one of a few Blue Jays players who have been under the weather of late, but he's the only one who will remain on the bench Wednesday. The Blue Jays are off Thursday, so Turner will aim to be back in the lineup Friday versus the Rays. Daniel Vogelbach will step in for Turner on Wednesday as Toronto's designated hitter. • Won't start Wednesday
Bassitt won't start Wednesday's game against the Orioles at Camden Yards, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bassitt was slated to start Tuesday in Baltimore before the game was postponed due to inclement weather. Rather than pushing each member of their rotation back a day in the pitching schedule to accommodate the postponement, the Blue Jays will have Yusei Kikuchi take the hill on normal rest Wednesday. As Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca notes, Bassitt has been hit hard by left-handed batters this season, and the lefty Kikuchi may give Toronto a better chance at coming away with a win against a lefty-heavy Baltimore lineup. The Blue Jays haven't announced their rotation plans for this weekend's series with the Rays, but expect Bassitt to start at least one of those games rather than having his turn skipped entirely.
