  • Trea Turner set to ramp-up baseball activities
Trea Turner (hamstring) will progress to running the bases, fielding grounders and hitting in the batting cage on Saturday.

Advice: Phillies manager Rob Thomson indicated Saturday that Turner may not require a minor league rehab assignment, but he’s not expected to ramp-up baseball activities until next week’s series at Fenway Park in Boston. The 30-year-old fantasy star has been on the shelf since early May recovering from a left hamstring strain. It certainly sounds like he’ll be ready to return by mid-June. Rotoworld Today, 8:12 am
  • Swipes two bags off bench
Hamilton entered Friday's game after Tyler O'Neill (knee) was removed and went 0-for-3 with two steals in a 7-2 loss to the White Sox.

Advice: After O'Neill's removal, the Red Sox made several adjustments, including Hamilton entering at shortstop and Ceddanne Rafaela moving to the outfield. Hamilton now has 11 steals for the season, second on the team. The Red Sox are dealing with several outfield injuries -- O'Neill, Wilyer Abreu (ankle) and Masataka Yoshida (thumb) -- and may not be able to get by with Rafaela at shortstop in the short term. In that event, Hamilton could be a regular at short. Rotowire.com Today, 6:37 am
  • Orelvis Martinez up to 15 round-trippers at Triple-A
Blue Jays INF prospect Orelvis Martinez belted his 15th homer of the season on Friday for Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: Martinez leads the International League with 15 big flies this season and doesn’t appear to have too much left to prove in the minors, especially with Toronto’s lineup continuing to struggle. It feels like only a matter of time before he gets the call to attempt to inject some life into the Blue Jays’ lineup. Rotoworld Today, 6:27 am
  • Starts at third base
Duran started at third base and went 2-for-3 an RBI in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Duran entered the lineup with Corey Seager (hamstring) on the bench. Josh Smith, the primary fill-in for Josh Jung (wrist) at third base, moved to shortstop, paving the way for Duran to make his eighth start of the season at the hot corner. Duran's hit safely in four consecutive games and 11 of the last 13. Seager's injury is not considered serious, but he could need a couple more days, per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. • Could deploy at 3B
Arizona manager Torey Lovullo is considering giving Alexander more looks at third base, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Advice: With Geraldo Perdomo (knee) due back in the coming days, Lovullo is evaluating potential roster decisions to accommodate his return. Perdomo's pending return puts a focus on Alexander and Kevin Newman. Alexander, who has made four appearances (two starts) at third base over the last 13 games, went 10-for-21 over a five-game hitting streak that ended Friday. At some point, the Diamondbacks may look for options to spell starting third baseman Eugenio Suarez, whose average has dropped to .198, while he is 2-for-23 over the last seven games. • Plays full game in field
Perdomo (knee) started at shortstop and went 0-for-4 for Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Advice: Perdomo played a third consecutive day for Reno and his first nine-inning game in the field. Including time spent in the Arizona Complex League, he's played six games and is 3-for-19. The Diamondbacks are considering roster options for Perdomo's pending return, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports. He'll slide back into his starting shortstop position, which puts the focus on Kevin Newman and Blaze Alexander. Rotowire.com Today, 5:19 am

  • Three hits in comeback win
Witt went 3-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 10-9 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Witt's triple was his seventh of the year, putting him second in the majors behind Boston's Jarren Duran (nine). It was a timely three-bagger for Witt, as it tied the game in the ninth inning, and he came home with the winning run on a Nelson Velazquez fielder's choice. This was Witt's third three-hit effort in his last six games. He's up to a .323/.375/.568 slash line with 11 home runs, 47 RBI, 56 runs scored and 19 stolen bases over 64 contests this season. • Two hits in return
Walls went 2-for-4 on Friday against the Orioles.

Advice: Walls made his season debut after missing the first two months while recovering from hip surgery. He hit seventh in the order and started at shortstop, shifting Jose Caballero to second base and Brandon Lowe to the bench with lefty Cole Irvin on the mound for the O's. It's unclear whether Walls will be able to earn much playing time against right-handed pitching. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:52 pm
  • Logs steal in win
Merrill went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: This was Merrill's first steal since May 14. Over the 20 contests between thefts, he hit a meager .224 (15-for-67) with no walks and just one extra-base hit. The 21-year-old still has a respectable .268/.303/.344 slash line with three home runs, 22 RBI, 24 runs scored and eight steals over 63 contests this year. Merrill has been benched against some left-handed pitchers recently, but he should have no trouble maintaining a majority of the playing time in center field over Jose Azocar.
