  • Drawing start Sunday
Wesneski will start Sunday in Boston in place of the injured Jordan Wicks (forearm), Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Wesneski went 2.1 innings and threw 20 pitches in a relief appearance Thursday and his last start was back on April 12 at Triple-A Iowa, so Sunday's outing will be an abbreviated one. However, Wesneski would be a candidate to fill in for additional starts should Wicks need to miss some time. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago
  • Won't start due to forearm injury
Wicks will not make Sunday's scheduled start in Boston due to left forearm tightness, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Wicks is coming off his best start of the season, but it would appear he picked up an arm injury either during that outing or in a between-starts throwing session. A stint on the injured list seems likely, but the Cubs could offer more on a potential timetable Sunday. Hayden Wesneski will start Sunday in Wicks' place. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago
  • Plates seven in monster game
Rafaela went 4-for-4 with a home run and seven RBI in Saturday's 17-0 victory over the Cubs.

Advice: There were big numbers throughout the Red Sox' lineup in this laugher, but Rafaela takes top billing. His home run came in the seventh inning off reliever Colten Brewer, and he also had a pair of doubles, one of which that cleared the bases in the fifth inning. As if that wasn't enough, Rafaela also stole his fourth base of the season and scored three runs. The 23-year-old had just 14 hits all season coming into Saturday's action, along with a 26.8 percent strikeout rate. While Saturday's performance was a peak at Rafaela's upside, he'll likely remain a volatile fantasy play. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago
  • Goes three frames in start
Winckowski took a no-decision Saturday versus the Cubs, spinning three shutout inning while yielding only three hits. He struck out one.

Advice: Winckowski was making his second start following seven relief appearances, hence the reason he was pulled after just three innings and 52 pitches. He permitted a pair of baserunners in both the first and second frames but had a clean third inning to finish off his night. With Nick Pivetta (elbow) unlikely to be ready next week, Winckowski will probably be needed for at least one more start. However, he's simply still not stretched out enough to offer any real fantasy value. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago
  • Lasts just 3.2 innings in start
Brown (0-1) was saddled with the loss Saturday, allowing three runs on seven hits over 3.2 innings against the Red Sox. He struck out four.

Advice: Tyler O'Neill clubbed a two-run homer in the first inning to getting the scoring started in what turned out to be a blowout victory for Boston. Brown was pitching on three days' rest after throwing an inning of relief on Tuesday, which surely contributed to him being pulled after 61 pitches. The rookie's usage has been erratic and unusual, but the results had been pretty good prior to this outing. If Brown gets another start -- which wouldn't appear to be guaranteed -- it will likely come either on the road against the Mets or at home versus the Brewers. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago
  • Rocked by Reds
Lorenzen (2-1) took the loss Saturday, coughing up five runs on six hits and a walk over six-plus innings in an 8-4 loss to Cincinnati. He struck out three.

Advice: The veteran right-hander came out firing, striking out the first two batters he faced, but things began to go sideways for Lorenzen in the second frame. Even so, he'd put together a quality start through six innings, but manager Bruce Bochy let him begin the seventh and Lorenzen hit Tyler Stephenson with a pitch before serving up a homer to Jonathan India. He left the mound after exactly 100 pitches (68 strikes), and Lorenzen will take a 4.24 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 14:9 K:BB through 17 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in Kansas City. • Plates two, steals base
Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with two RBI while netting his first stolen base of the season in Saturday's 7-4 victory over the Mets.

Advice: Goldschmidt one-hopped a two-run double off the wall as part of a four-run first inning for the Cardinals. He also added an infield single, a stolen base and another run scored. The former MVP did also strike out three times Saturday and has fanned at an elevated 30.1 percent. The production on the whole has ticked up over the past week, though, with Goldschmidt going 9-for-27 (.333) with one home run and four RBI. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago
  • Launches first homer of 2024
India went 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: The 27-year-old slugged a two-run homer off Michael Lorenzen in the seventh inning, giving the Reds what proved to be crucial insurance runs after they'd jumped out to an early 3-0 lead. The long ball was India's first of 2024, and after managing only two multi-hit performances in his first 21 games, he's now racked up six knocks in the last two. Despite the big weekend he's putting together, he's still slashing just .222/.347/.309 on the season with two steals, eight RBI and 11 runs in 81 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago
