  • Idle against lefty
Naylor isn't in the Guardians' lineup Saturday against the Angels.

Advice: The left-handed Naylor will take a seat as fellow left-hander Reid Detmers starts on the hill for Los Angeles. David Fry will take over at first base and bat fourth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:28 pm
  • Anthony Rizzo swats three-run homer vs. Tigers
Anthony Rizzo went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer Saturday to help the Yankees to a 5-3 win over the Tigers.

Advice: Rizzo extended the Yankees’ lead to 5-1 with a three-run blast off Casey Mize. The 34-year-old also singled, and the pair of hits bumps his average to .263. Rizzo got off to a poor start, but he’s starting to come around with an OPS that has gone up over 150 points over the last two weeks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:48 pm
  • Brandon Drury (head) returns to lineup Saturday
Brandon Drury (head) is back in the starting lineup Saturday against the Guardians.

Advice: Drury was out of the lineup Wednesday and Friday because of a migraine issue, but he’s feeling well enough to play Saturday against the Guardians. Luis Rengifo is out of the lineup with Drury returning. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:10 pm
  • Recalled by Philadelphia
The Phillies recalled Clemens from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

Advice: The move corresponds with the Phillies placing Trea Turner on the 10-day IL due to a left hamstring strain. Clemens was called up to the majors in April while Bryce Harper was on paternity leave. Clemens appeared in one game, going 2-for-4 with a three-home run against the Reds on April 22. He's slashing .247/.327/.419 with five doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI over 104 plate appearances in Triple-A. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:01 am
  • Homers in Friday's win
Renfroe went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 7-1 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Renfroe has struggled to get his bat going -- he's 3-for-27 (.111) over his last 10 games. The outfielder has started to lose playing time to Adam Frazier, who was squeezed out of a full-time role at second base when Michael Massey returned from a back injury. Renfroe is slashing a poor .155/.228/.298 with three homers, 11 RBI, eight runs scored and three doubles over 92 plate appearances, so he'll need to put together better performances to continue playing regularly. • Sitting again versus lefty
Brown isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Brown will take a seat Saturday as the A's prepare to face a left-handed starter for the second game in a row. He will be replaced in left field by Esteury Ruiz, who will lead off Oakland's lineup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:57 am
  • Resting Saturday
Vaughn isn't in the White Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Vaughn is currently enjoying a five-game hitting streak, but the White Sox will give him a breather Saturday. Gavin Sheets will man first base instead, allowing Robbie Grossman to pick up a start in right field and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:53 am
  • Hits bench versus lefty
Kirilloff isn't in the Twins' lineup Saturday against Boston.

Advice: Brennan Bernardino will start on the mound for the Red Sox, meaning the left-handed bat of Kirilloff will watch the beginning of Saturday's game from the dugout. Willi Castro will move to left field as a result, allowing Jose Miranda to start at third base while batting second. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:45 am
  • Cubs option Matt Mervis to Triple-A Iowa
Cubs optioned INF Matt Mervis to Triple-A Iowa.

Advice: Mervis was ineffective in his action with the Cubs, as the 26-year-old hit just .115 with an OPS of .302 helping tell the story. The 26-year-old was considered one of the better hitting prospects in the higher-levels not long ago, but so far, things don’t look great. Miles Mastrobuoni is up for Mervis to get work in Triple-A.
