• Roansy Contreras to start Wednesday against A’s
Roansy Contreras will start on Wednesday against the Athletics.

Advice: It’s a favorable matchup for streaming purposes, but Contreras is too risky to roll the dice on, with the notable exception of extremely deep mixed leagues or AL-only formats. The 24-year-old former prospect was acquired last month from the Pirates in a small trade and has fared reasonably well in nine relief appearances for Los Angeles. Angels manager Ron Washington told reporters they’re hoping to get at least four or five innings out of Contreras on Wednesday afternoon. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:10 pm

  • Set to start Wednesday
Contreras will start Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old was acquired from the Pirates in May and has worked out of the bullpen for his first nine appearances for the Halos. Contreras has pitched to a 3.29 ERA and 0.95 WHIP over 13.2 innings with Anaheim, and manager Ron Washington said the club is hoping the right-hander can cover about four or five innings versus Oakland, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com. • Sent back to minors
The Giants optioned Burgos to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Burgos' contract was selected from Triple-A on Monday, and he'll now head back to Sacramento after spending just 24 hours in the big leagues. He gave up an earned run on three hits and a walk over one inning in his MLB debut. The 25-year-old southpaw has turned in a 1.64 ERA and 0.82 WHIP through 22 frames in the minors, however, so a return to San Francisco later in the year is definitely possible. Mason Black was recalled in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:29 pm

  • Bullpen session later this week
Hendriks (elbow) is slated to throw a bullpen session later this week, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Advice: It will be his first time throwing off a mound since he underwent Tommy John surgery in early August of last year. Hendriks is hoping to join the Red Sox' relief corps at some point during the final two months of this season, and while that's possible, the bigger-picture goal is having him healthy and ready to roll as a member of Boston's 2025 bullpen. • Liam Hendriks (elbow) to throw bullpen this week
Liam Hendriks (elbow) will progress to throwing a bullpen session this week.

Advice: Hendriks will throw his first bullpen session since undergoing Tommy John surgery last August. The 35-year-old righty isn’t expected to be ready to contribute for Boston until the outset of next season, but this is a notable step forward in his lengthy rehabilitation process. • Stumbles but secures save
Helsley allowed two runs on two hits and two walks in the ninth inning Monday, striking out two and earning a save against Atlanta.

Advice: Helsley loaded the bases with just one out but managed to escape with a save in the 4-3 win. It was the second time this month he's allowed multiple runs in an appearance, and the third time in his last 13 outings. Despite the recent shakiness, Helsley has converted 27 consecutive save chances since blowing his first opportunity of the year. He owns a 2.83 ERA and a 42:15 K:BB through 35 innings. • Helsley picks up 27th save against Braves Monday
Ryan Helsley allowed two runs and picked up the save against the Braves on Monday.

Advice: It was an eventful ninth inning in St. Louis. Helsley entered with a 4-1 lead and proceeded to load the bases on two walks and a hit. With one out, Ramon Laureano singled to make it a 4-2 game and Travis d’Arnaud hit a sacrifice fly to bring the Braves within a run. Helsley then struck out Zack Short on a slider to end the ballgame. His ERA is up to 2.83 now, but fantasy managers can’t complain with 27 saves already in the bank. Rotoworld Monday, 7:17 pm

  • Selected by San Francisco
The Giants selected Burgos' contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.

Advice: The move corresponds with the Giants designating Trenton Brooks for assignment. In nine games with Sacramento this season, Burgos has a 1.64 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 23:2 K:BB over 22 innings. The 25-year-old southpaw will work out of the Giants' bullpen, likely as a multi-inning reliever. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:02 pm

  • Perfect for 26th save
Helsley picked up the save Sunday against San Francisco, striking out two batters during a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Helsley has two more saves than any other closer and is now 26-for-27 on save chances this season. While he's been able to dodge blown saves, Helsley has had to work through plenty of trouble lately, allowing multiple baserunners in seven of his last 12 appearances. Still, the 29-year-old holds a 2.38 ERA and a 40:13 K:BB across 34.0 innings this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:48 pm
