• Settles for quality start Tuesday
Webb came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Pirates, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The right-hander delivered his third straight quality start and eighth of 2024 on 103 pitches (72 strikes), and Webb left the mound in line for his fifth win of the year only to watch Camilo Doval blow his first save of the season in the ninth inning. Webb will take a 3.03 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 53:18 K:BB through 65.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend against the Mets. Rotowire.com Today, 7:29 am
  • Awarded second start
Spence is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Rockies in Oakland.

Advice: He'll be making his second straight turn through Oakland's injury-depleted rotation. After working mostly as a long reliever for the first seven weeks of the season, Spence was already fairly stretched out for his first MLB start last Friday in Kansas City. He tossed 4.2 innings (77 pitches) and took a loss to the Royals while striking out four and giving up one earned run on five hits and one walk. The Athletics should give Spence a longer leash Wednesday if he pitches as efficiently against the Rockies as he did in his 4.2 innings in Kansas City. Rotowire.com Today, 7:29 am

  • Back in Triple-A
Maldonado was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.

Advice: In a weak and shallow Marlins farm system, Maldonado is one of the few fantasy-relevant prospects, albeit for deeper leagues. He had a 3.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, seven strikeouts and one save in 12 innings with the big club. Maldonado threw his mid-80s slider two-thirds of the time and his 93-mph fastball just over 30 percent of the time while in the majors. Rotowire.com Today, 7:26 am
  • Yankees activate Tommy Kahnle for season debut
Yankees activated RHP Tommy Kahnle from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Clayton Andrews was sent down last night to make room. Kahnle had been on the injured list since the start of the year due to shoulder inflammation. The setup man pitched five hitless innings and struck out 11 during his rehab stint, though none of that came in Triple-A. He’s also yet to pitch on back-to-back days. Rotoworld Today, 7:26 am

  • Mauled by Minnesota
Corbin (1-5) took the loss Tuesday as the Nationals were routed 10-0 by the Twins, surrendering eight runs on nine hits -- including three home runs -- and three walks over six innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Minnesota hung two runs on the veteran southpaw in four separate innings, and Corbin was taken deep twice by Byron Buxton and once by Jose Miranda while also serving up extra-base hits to Carlos Santana and Carlos Correa. It's the first time since March 30 that Corbin has been tagged for multiple homers, but he wasn't having much success when keeping the ball in the park, either. He'll carry a 6.29 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 32:21 K:BB through 54.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come early next week in Atlanta. Rotowire.com Today, 7:24 am
  • Blanks Nats for third win
Ryan (3-3) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing three hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings in a 10-0 rout of the Nationals. He struck out six.

Advice: The right-hander didn't let a baserunner get past second base as he delivered his seventh quality start of the season in 10 trips to the mound. Tuesday's outing was also the first time in 2024 that Ryan had issued multiple free passes. He'll take a 3.15 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 64:9 K:BB through 60 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Royals. Rotowire.com Today, 7:15 am

  • Early exit in no-decision
Rogers came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Brewers, giving up four runs on six hits and four walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: The lefty threw only 53 of 90 pitches for strikes before leaving the mound, and his final line could have been a lot worse -- Owen Miller and Christian Yelich were thrown out at home in consecutive innings, and Milwaukee stranded runners in scoring position in every frame Rogers pitched. It's the third time in four May starts he's failed to complete four innings, and he's saddled with a 10.05 ERA, 2.58 WHIP and 14:11 K:BB through 14.1 innings on the month. Rogers will look to turn things around in his next outing, which is scheduled to come early next week in San Diego. Rotowire.com Today, 7:06 am
  • Returns from injured list
The Yankees activated Kahnle (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Advice: Kahnle has been out all season with a right shoulder issue that dates back to last September, but he's ready to roll after fanning 11 batters over five perfect innings during his minor-league rehab assignment. The Yankees plan to be careful with his workload in initially in not using him on back-to-back days, but Kahnle will be given high-leverage innings right out of the chute. • Aaron Brooks delivers quality start versus Rockies
Aaron Brooks gave the A’s another quality start by allowing three runs in six innings Tuesday at home against the Rockies.

Advice: This is definitely pushing the boundaries of the quality start; not only did he do the bare minimum in allowing three runs in six innings, but he was doing so against the road-team version of the Rockies in a strong pitcher’s park in Oakland. Still, he gave the A’s a chance to win, and they did so by scoring three runs off the Rockies pen. Brooks should remain in the rotation and face the Astros next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:43 pm
