• Mason Miller strikes out side for ninth save
Mason Miller struck out all three batters he faced Tuesday against the Rockies for his first save of the month.

Advice: Miller earned eight saves from Apr. 9-30, but the A’s hadn’t had any save situations for him since. Given that he also pitched Sunday, it’s possible he’ll now require Wednesday off. The A’s have allowed him to pitch on consecutive days twice, but they haven’t had him work three times in four days. That it’s a day game Wednesday doesn’t help. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:42 pm

  • Cal Quantrill strikes out eight against A’s
Cal Quantrill yielded two runs in six innings and struck out eight against the A’s on Tuesday.

Advice: The Rockies ought to be shopping Quantrill now; it’s hard to imagine he’ll have more trade value at the deadline than he does currently with his 3.59 ERA and a 44/21 K/BB ratio in 57 2/3 innings. That 18.6% K rate is a huge improvement over last year’s mark of 13.1% with Cleveland. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:42 pm
  • Martín Pérez struggles with command vs SF
Martín Pérez allowed four runs (two runs) on five hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Giants.

Advice: Pérez struck out four but walked three on the day. He started just 10 of the 22 batters he faced with a first-pitch strike and had a zone rate of 36 percent overall which is not good. It led to a 19 percent CSW on the day, and he’s lucky the final line wasn’t much worse. He’ll take a 4.80 ERA into a weekend showdown against the Braves and should not be started in fantasy leagues. • Logan Webb let down by bullpen on Tuesday
Logan Webb allowed two runs on six hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Webb left the game with a 5-2 lead and watched as the Giants blew a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth before losing in extra innings. Webb went back to a change-up-heavy approach on Tuesday, registering just a 17 percent whiff rate but a 28 percent CSW. However, he also allowed an average exit velocity on contact of 96.7 mph and allowed 11 hard-hit baseballs. Lucky for him, just one of those went for extra bases and he was able to lower his ERA to 3.03 on the year. He has a solid start lined up against the Mets this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:14 pm
  • Robert Gasser fails to record strikeout vs. Fish
Robert Gasser was charged with five runs (four earned) over six innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Marlins.

Advice: On the heels of a pair of impressive outings to open his big-league career, Gasser turned in one of the more bizarre pitching lines of the season as he managed to allow five runs, despite not allowing a home run or walking a batter. He also didn’t record a strikeout. Weird. We’re not totally sure what to make of it, but we’d bank on the strikeouts coming back when he squares off against the Cubs on Monday in his next outing. • Trevor Rogers struggles Tuesday in no-decision
Trevor Rogers gave up four runs over 3 2/3 innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Brewers.

Advice: Simply put, Rogers wasn’t at his best in this one, giving up six hits and four walks, while only notching four strikeouts, and failed to complete four frames. He’ll face off against the Padres on Monday in his next outing. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:55 pm
  • Joe Ryan tosses seven scoreless to beat Nats
Joe Ryan struck out six over seven shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Nationals.

Advice: Ryan’s velocity was up across the board as his four-seam fastball had a little bit of extra life on it, which led to an impressive eight swinging strikes and a near-elite 39 percent CSW. He limited Washington’s lineup to just three hits and a pair of walks over seven stellar frames. The 27-year-old righty will bring a strong 3.15 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 64/9 K/BB ratio across 60 innings (10 starts) into a home outing on Monday against the division-rival Royals. • Patrick Corbin lit up for eight runs in loss
Patrick Corbin was obliterated for a season-high eight runs over six innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Twins.

Advice: Corbin was shelled for a staggering nine hits, including three homers, by Minnesota’s suddenly surging offense. He struck out three and also issued three walks. The 34-year-old lefty had been pitching well of late until this disastrous outing. He’s been off the fantasy radar for a few years at this point and there’s been zero indication that’s going to change. He’ll face the Braves on Monday his next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:06 pm
  • Throwing off mound Wednesday
Olson (hip) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Olson had to make an early exit from his start Monday against the Royals after taking a comebacker off his right hip. The right-hander managed to escape the incident with nothing more than a bruise, but the Tigers will have him throw a bullpen session to make sure Olson will be able to make his next scheduled start Saturday against Toronto.
