• Nick Castellanos finally collects first double
Nick Castellanos doubled, singled and walked twice versus the Giants on Monday.

Advice: Each time it looks like Castellanos might be turning the corner, he’s gone right back to slumping the next day. Still, this rates as his best game so far this season. The double was hit 389 feet and would have been a homer in nine ballparks. Incredibly, it was the first two-bagger of the year for a guy who once had 58 of them. He finished with 37 last season. • Sitting against southpaw
Butler is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Butler will head to the bench while southpaw Andrew Heaney toes the rubber for the Rangers. Tyler Nevin will fill in for Butler in right field and will bat second. Rotowire.com Today, 4:02 pm

  • Sitting out against lefty
Brown is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: With lefty Andrew Heaney on the hill for Texas, the lefty-hitting Brown will head to the bench. Esteury Ruiz replaces Brown in left field. Rotowire.com Today, 4:01 pm

  • Evan Carter out Monday against Athletics
Evan Carter is out of the starting lineup for Monday’s game against the Athletics.

Advice: Carter will get a day of rest against southpaw Alex Wood. While Carter sits the Rangers will have Ezequiel Duran play left field and hit seventh. Josh Smith also gets the day off for the Rangers with Davis Wendzel getting the start at third. Rotoworld Today, 3:57 pm

  • Back in starting nine Monday
Ruiz (wrist) will start in left field and bat leadoff in Monday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: After he was pulled from Saturday's 20-4 win over the Marlins with a wrist injury, Ruiz was sent in for an MRI, but the imaging evidently revealed nothing concerning. The speedy outfielder will slot back in atop the lineup with Oakland facing a left-hander (Andrew Heaney) on Monday, but Ruiz still looks as though he'll be limited to a short-side platoon role that will limit his opportunities to play against right-handed pitching. • Sitting versus southpaw
Carter is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: The A's are sending southpaw Alex Wood to the hill, so the left-handed hitting Carter will receive a day off. Ezequiel Duran is getting the start in left field Monday. Rotowire.com Today, 3:56 pm

  • Won't start versus lefty
Burleson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Burleson will remain on the bench for a second straight game while the Cardinals oppose another southpaw starting pitcher (Sean Manaea). Ivan Herrera will replace Burleson as St. Louis' designated hitter. Rotowire.com Today, 3:43 pm

  • Christian Yelich (backs) takes BP on field
Christian Yelich (back) was able to take part in batting practice on the field before Monday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters that this was likely the final step before Yelich can return to the lineup. That could mean Yelich won’t take part in a rehab assignment, and assuming he recovers well from this session, the 32-year-old could be back in the lineup by the end of the week. • Batting ninth Monday
Outman will start in center field and bat ninth in Monday's game versus the Marlins.

Advice: Outman has mostly batted seventh this season, but he hit eighth in his last two starts and is now down in the nine spot for the first time since July of 2023. He entered play Monday hitting just .107/.219/.143 across his last nine contests. Rotowire.com Today, 3:25 pm
