• Moves to bench with lefty starting
Sheets is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Sheets had started in each of the White Sox's last eight games, but he'll retreat to the bench Monday with southpaw Tyler Alexander taking the hill for Tampa Bay. Robbie Grossman will spell Sheets in right field. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

  • Moves to 60-day IL
The Cardinals transferred Edman (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

Advice: Edman has been on the IL all season while working his way back from October surgery on his right wrist. The 28-year-old has resumed taking swings from both sides of the plate without incident, but since he has yet to be cleared for full baseball activities, the expectation was that he would still need at least a few more weeks to finish up his rehab program. With that in mind, Edman's move to the 60-day IL doesn't come as surprise, and his potential timeline for a return won't be dramatically affected as a result. He won't be eligible to make his 2024 Cardinals debut until May 24. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

  • Absent from lineup again
Velazquez is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Brewers.

Advice: It's the second straight day on the bench for Velazquez, who is in a 2-for-32 tailspin at the plate. He did pinch-hit in Sunday's game and will be available to do so again Monday. Adam Frazier is in the designated hitter spot for Kansas City. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago

  • Out again Monday
Perez (illness) remains out of the lineup for Monday's contest in Cleveland.

Advice: Perez was a late scratch ahead of Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Yankees due to an illness, and he'll receive at least one more day of rest. Parker Meadows will get another start in center field in Perez's stead. Rotowire.com 36 minutes ago

  • Heads to bench in Lowe's return
Palacios is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Palacios has served as a strong-side platoon player in right field for much of the season, but his opportunities in the outfield could be more scarce moving forward with Josh Lowe (hamstring) coming off the 10-day injured list Monday after Jonny DeLuca was activated just three days earlier. Perhaps in preparation to the incoming logjam in the outfield, Palacios has been given more exposure to second base, where he started both of the past two games. He could end up forming a platoon at that spot with the right-handed-hitting Amed Rosario, though it'll be Rosario who gets the starting nod Monday versus White Sox righty Mike Clevinger. Palacios has been one of the better-performing hitters for the Rays this season, posting an .87O OPS while going 5-for-5 in stolen-base attempts across his 95 plate appearances. • Scratched from lineup
Rengifo was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game in Pittsburgh, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: He had been set to return following a two-game absence due to illness, but Fletcherrelays that Rengifo is still experiencing some symptoms of the ailment and will get another day off to recover. Brandon Drury was added to the lineup as Rengifo's replacement at second base. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago

  • Luis Rengifo scratched on Monday
Luis Rengifo was scratched from the Angels lineup on Monday.

Advice: Rengifo was originally penciled in at second base and hitting sixth in the order. However, he has been replaced by Brandon Drury. According to Jeff Fletcher of the SoCal News Group, Rengifo is no longer sick, so we’ll have to wait and hear the reason for him being replaced. Rotoworld 57 minutes ago

  • Matt Vierling hitting third for Tigers on Monday
Matt Vierling is starting at 3B and hitting third for the Tigers on Monday against the Guardians.

Advice: Vierling has bounced around the lineup over the last week but never hitting below fifth in the order. With Wenceel Perez still out with an illness, Vierling will get a chance to hit third against right-hander Triston McKenzie. Vierling is off to a strong start this year, slashing .287/.313/.457 with three home runs, 14 runs, and 11 RBI in 99 plate appearances. He’s chasing less out of the strike zone but being more aggressive in the strike zone which has led to increased contact rates. He’s also pulling and lifting the ball more, which has helped him register an 8.2 percent barrel rate. We might not be seeing a full-on breakout, but his success has not been flukey. • Josh Lowe hitting third in return to lineup
Josh Lowe is starting in right field and batting third for the Rays against the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: The Rays are wasting no time throwing Lowe right back into the heart of the order and against right-handed Mike Clevinger, that shouldn’t be a huge surprise. However, the Rays are also set to face just one left-handed pitcher in their next 10 games, so it should be a bit of a softer landing spot for Lowe, who has been on the bench at times against lefties in the past.
