    • Reaches career milestone
Turner went 3-for-4 with a double and a run, reaching 1,500 career hits in Wednesday's 3-2 win against the Orioles.

Advice: Turner scored after doubling in the second inning, and he singled in his next at-bat for the 1,500th hit of his major-league career. The veteran has posted a modest .225/.307/.354 slash line through 202 plate appearances in his first campaign with Toronto, though he's maintained his usual solid contact skills with a 16.3 percent strikeout rate. Turner has added four homers, 20 RBI, 19 runs and a 10.1 percent walk rate. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:47 pm

    • Provides insurance with homer
Arenado went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Astros.

Advice: This was Arenado's third homer in his last seven games, doubling his total to six long balls on the year. He's gone 6-for-28 (.214) in that seven-game span as he continues to try and put it all together this season. The veteran third baseman is at a .252/.306/.376 slash line with 28 RBI, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles and no stolen bases through 58 contests in 2024, numbers far too similar to the down year he posted in the abbreviated 2020 campaign. • Nolan Arenado goes deep, Cardinals edge Astros
Nolan Arenado slugged a solo homer on Wednesday, lifting the Cardinals to a 4-2 victory over the Astros.

Advice: Arenado supplied a key insurance run for the Cardinals’ bullpen with a sixth-inning solo shot off Astros starter Ronel Blanco. It was his sixth round-tripper of the season and third time he’s gone deep in his last seven contests since May 28. The 33-year-old remains stuck in one of the most challenging extended power outages of his career, but he’s shown a bit of a spark lately, and might finally be turning things around. We’ll see. • Justin Turner rides the pine once again Monday
Justin Turner is once again riding the pine for Monday’s series opener against the Orioles.

Advice: It appears as though Father Time may have caught up to the 39-year-old slugger, as Turner is slashing a miserable .212/.299/.341 on the season with just four homers and 20 RBI. He was even worse in the month of May — hitting a cringe-inducing .111/.210/.139 with zero homers and five RBI. Daniel Vogelbach will function as the Jays’ designated hitter on Monday and will bat cleanup against Grayson Rodriguez and the O’s. Rotoworld Monday, 12:15 pm

    • Taking seat Monday
Turner is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Turner has seen his playing time slip lately amidst his struggles, as he's now been out of the lineup for two of the previous three contests and five of the last 11 games. Daniel Vogelbach will make a third straight start at designated hitter. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:11 pm

    • On bench Saturday
Turner is out of the lineup Saturday versus the Pirates.

Advice: Turner will head to the bench after he went 2-for-11 with a double, two RBI, four walks and two strikeouts while starting the team's last three contests. Daniel Vogelbach will replace him at designated hitter and bat fifth against Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:08 am

    • Goes deep again
Arenado went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Arenado has homered in each of his last two games. The third baseman's power numbers are still way down -- he's at five homers and a .379 slugging percentage through 53 contests -- but his recent stretch could be a sign of him heating up. On the year, he's batting .257 with 26 RBI, 22 runs scored, 10 doubles and no stolen bases over 226 plate appearances. Not counting the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Arenado hasn't hit less than 26 home runs since 2014, but he needs to get going to hit that mark this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:03 pm

    • Nolan Arenado gets scheduled day off
Nolan Arenado is out of the Cardinals lineup Wednesday in what manager Oli Marmol said was a day off scheduled long ago.

Advice: It’s apparently very important to note that this is not a reaction to Arenado’s lengthy slump, and last night’s homer didn’t result in a change of heart and putting him into the lineup today. Brendan Donovan is starting at third base, and Matt Carpenter is getting a start at DH. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:26 am
