    • Posts big stat line Saturday
Tovar went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four total RBI in Saturday's 6-5 win against St. Louis.

Advice: Tovar kicked off the scoring in the first inning with an RBI single to left field. That was just the beginning of a massive performance by the young shortstop -- he added a solo homer in the sixth and a tiebreaking two-run shot in the seventh. The four-hit game was Tovar's second of the campaign, and he finished with his second multi-homer performance of the season. Tovar is somewhat quietly enjoying a breakout 2024, slashing .294/.326/.487 with 10 homers, 28 RBI, 34 runs and four stolen bases through 282 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

    • Tovar goes deep twice against Cardinals
Ezequiel Tovar went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: The two home runs give Tovar 10 on the season. He hit a solo home run off Kyle Gibson in the sixth inning and a two-run home run that gave the Rockies a 6-4 lead off Andrew Kittredge in the seventh inning. Tovar is up to .294 with a .813 OPS and 28 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 4:50 pm

    • Taking seat Saturday
Turner is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Oakland.

Advice: Turner will begin Saturday's game in the dugout after going 0-for-3 with one walk and two strikeouts in the series opener Friday. The lefty-hitting Daniel Vogelbach will serve as the designated hitter Saturday and bat sixth against Athletics right-hander Luis Medina. Rotowire.com Today, 10:29 am

    • Corbin Carroll records three hits in Arizona’s win
Corbin Carroll went 3-for-5 with a double, a steal and two runs scored as the Diamondbacks edged the Padres 4-3 on Thursday.

Advice: It’s just Carroll’s second three-hit game of the year. All three of Carroll’s hits were legit, leaving his bat on a line at 108, 106 and 99 mph. It’s definitely his most encouraging game in weeks and maybe of the entire season. At .201, he finished the game over the Mendoza Line for the first time since May 12. • Nabs 10th steal
Carroll went 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Padres.

Advice: Carroll's three-hit effort got his batting average over .200 for the first time since May 12. He's opened June by going 5-for-21 (.238) over six contests, and his steal Thursday was his first since May 25. The outfielder is slashing .201/.284/.291 with two home runs, 10 thefts, 20 RBI, 30 runs scored, seven doubles and four triples over 61 games in a so-far disappointing sophomore campaign. • Remains leadoff against righties
Carroll batted leadoff and went 1-for-5 with a run scored in Wednesday's 9-3 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Carroll was moved down to the eighth in the order the last two games, but that is an adjustment against left-handers only. Last year's NL Rookie of the Year continues to struggle overall, slashing .192/.278/.279 through 259 plate appearances. There are indicators to explain his issues -- fewer barrels and an increase in pop-up rate jump out -- but he's retained good plate discipline and luck appears to be a factor. Carroll's .237 BABIP ranks 142nd among 154 qualified hitters in MLB. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:02 am

    • Reaches career milestone
Turner went 3-for-4 with a double and a run, reaching 1,500 career hits in Wednesday's 3-2 win against the Orioles.

Advice: Turner scored after doubling in the second inning, and he singled in his next at-bat for the 1,500th hit of his major-league career. The veteran has posted a modest .225/.307/.354 slash line through 202 plate appearances in his first campaign with Toronto, though he's maintained his usual solid contact skills with a 16.3 percent strikeout rate. Turner has added four homers, 20 RBI, 19 runs and a 10.1 percent walk rate. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:47 pm

    • Provides insurance with homer
Arenado went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Astros.

Advice: This was Arenado's third homer in his last seven games, doubling his total to six long balls on the year. He's gone 6-for-28 (.214) in that seven-game span as he continues to try and put it all together this season. The veteran third baseman is at a .252/.306/.376 slash line with 28 RBI, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles and no stolen bases through 58 contests in 2024, numbers far too similar to the down year he posted in the abbreviated 2020 campaign. • Nick Castellanos homers, Phillies sweep Brewers
Nick Castellanos swatted a two-run homer on Wednesday, lifting the Phillies to a 2-0 victory over the Brewers.

Advice: Castellanos connected for a 402-foot blast off Brewers southpaw Aaron Ashby in the fifth inning for his eighth big fly of the season. It wound up being the lone tally for either side in a rare low-scoring showdown at Citizens Bank Park and was more than enough run support for Aaron Nola and the Phillies’ bullpen in this one. The 32-year-old corner outfielder has homered twice in this last seven contests since May 29. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:53 pm
