• Improves to 5-0 in win Saturday
Suarez (5-0) earned the victory over San Diego on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and no walks while striking out eight batters over eight innings.

Advice: Suarez's scoreless inning streak came to an end at 32.2 frames when Eguy Rosario touched him up for a solo homer in the eighth inning, but that did little to take away from another dominant effort. The left-hander posted his fifth straight quality start, and he's struck out exactly eight batters in three of those outings. Suarez has been among the league's best pitchers in the early part of the season -- he's tied for the MLB lead with five wins, leads all qualified pitchers with a minuscule 0.63 WHIP and ranks fourth with a 1.32 ERA. • Swipes home in win
Kwan went 2-for-5 with two runs and a stolen base Saturday in an extra-inning victory versus Atlanta.

Advice: Kwan's speed was on display throughout the contest, as neither of his base knocks left the infield and he crossed the plate on a steal of home in the eighth inning. The third-year outfielder had had an impressive beginning to the campaign, notching at least one hit in 17 of his 26 contests. He's slashing .345/.378/.469 with three homers, eight RBI, 25 runs and three thefts through 119 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:13 pm
  • MRI shows inflammation in knee
Sano said Saturday that he's day-to-day after an MRI revealed inflammation in his left knee, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: It sounds like Sano avoided a major setback with his surgically repaired left knee. He exited games Wednesday and Friday due to soreness, and Angels manager Ron Washington told Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register that the left knee had contributed to Sano's recent struggles at the plate. While Sano says he's day-to-day, it would not be a surprise if he sat Sunday, and an IL stint can't be completely ruled out. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:10 pm

  • Tosses seven scoreless frames
Morton allowed four hits and one walk while striking out six batters over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision against Cleveland on Saturday.

Advice: Morton and Cleveland starter Tanner Bibee both hurled seven scoreless frames in the contest, subjecting both pitchers to a no-decision despite their impressive individual efforts. Morton notched his second straight quality start, and he appears to be coming back around after allowing 10 runs over 11.1 frames across a pair of outings April 8 and April 14. The veteran right-hander continues rolling along as an effective rotation piece in his 17th MLB season -- through five starts, he's posting a 3.60 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB over 30 innings. • Notches first career save
Sandlin picked up a save against Atlanta on Saturday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.

Advice: Regular Cleveland closer Emmanuel Clase pitched a scoreless ninth frame to send the game into extra innings, so Sandlin was handed the ball with the Guardians up two runs in the 11th. The right-hander didn't have any trouble getting through the heart of the Atlanta lineup, retiring Ronald Acuna, Ozzie Albies and Austin Riley in order on just 11 pitches. There's no arguing that this was an impressive performance by Sandlin, but with Clase locked in as one of the league's most secure closers, it's unlikely Sandlin gets many more save chances moving forward. • Throws two scoreless innings
Jackson allowed two hits with no walks while striking out two over two scoreless innings in Saturday's 16-5 win over the Angels.

Advice: Jackson has an impressive 17:5 K:BB ratio in 14.2 innings, but has given up three home runs helping result in a not-as-impressive 4.30 ERA. He's become a steady option as a setup man, but isn't being used in enough high-leverage spots to accumulate many holds or save chances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:59 pm
  • Alec Bohm drives in four runs with homer vs. Padres
Alec Bohm homered and drove in four runs in a victory Saturday over the Padres.

Advice: Bohm got the party started with a two-run homer off a shaky Dylan Cease in the first inning. The 27-year-old added two more RBI with a single off Cease in the fifth to bring his RBI total 26 in 28 games. That number isn’t sustainable, but Bohm is going to get a lot of run-producing changes as long as he’s effective enough to justify hitting in the middle of this loaded Philadelphia lineup. • Eguy Rosario swats solo homer in defeat
Eguy Rosario hit a solo homer in a loss Saturday to the Phillies.

Advice: Rosario apparently doesn’t have a thing for history, as his solo homer ended a 32 2/3 inning scoreless streak for Ranger Suárez. Rosario has gone deep three times with six RBI in limited playing time, and he’s slugging a rather healthy .605. The 24-year-old is definitely a name to keep a close eye on over the coming weeks. • Dylan Cease walks three, allows five in loss
Dylan Cease gave up five runs in six innings of work while picking up a loss Saturday against the Phillies.

Advice: Cease was going to have to be at his best to match Ranger Suárez, and unfortunately he wasn’t close. The right-hander did whiff five, but he gave up six hits that included a two-run homer from Alec Bohm. In his first season with the Padres, Cease has posted a very solid 2.78 ERA despite this not-so-effective outing. A chance to lower that figure comes Friday in Arizona. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:22 pm
