• Rough night in no-decision
Allen did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Tigers, allowing seven runs on seven hits and two walks over 2.1 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: It was a brutal night for Allen, with four of Detroit's runs coming on a pair of Andy Ibanez home runs in the first two innings. However, he was spared a third straight loss, as Cleveland answered the Tigers' four-run second inning with five runs in the bottom of the frame. It's been a tough start to Allen's sophomore campaign -- he's 3-2 with a 6.41 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 33:13 K:BB through 39.1 innings. He's already given up nine home runs after surrendering 16 in 24 starts last season. Allen will look to turn things around in his next outing, currently lined up for Sunday versus the White Sox. • Demotion coming
The Red Sox will option Uwasawa to Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Uwasawa will be pushed off the big-league roster with Nick Pivetta (elbow) in line to return from the IL on Wednesday. Uwasawa has performed well during his first MLB stint, giving up just one earned run across four innings, though he has not found the same success while in Triple-A. The 30-year-old may still return to Boston later this season if the Red Sox find themselves in need of a fresh arm capable of pitching multiple innings out of the bullpen. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago
  • Pete Alonso homers, doubles in Mets win
Pete Alonso went 2-for-5 with a homer, double, and three RBI in the Mets 7-to-5 win over the Cardinals on Tuesday night.

Advice: 2-for-his last-44 heading into the night, Alonso broke out in a big way against Miles Mikolas and the Cardinals. His two-run double gave the Mets the lead and his eighth inning homer added a valuable insurance run as Adam Ottavino ran into trouble in the ninth. All three of the balls Alonso put in play were hit over 105 MPH exit velocity. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

  • Adam Ottavino navigates rocky save
Adam Ottavino allowed one earned run and earned the save for the Mets on Tuesday night to collect his first save of the season with Edwin Díaz unavailable.

Advice: Ottavino took over closer duties for the Mets Tuesday after Díaz worked back-to-back days Sunday and Monday. Things got dicey after a Lars Nootbar homer and some traffic on the bases, but Ottavino struck out Paul Goldschmidt and Alec Burleson to end the game. He is unlikely to get many more save opportunities with Díaz and Reed Garrett ahead of him in the Mets’ bullpen pecking order. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago
  • Alec Burleson homers, collects three hits in loss
Alec Burleson went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Mets.

Advice: The homer was Burleson’s second of the year, with both coming against the Mets. This was his 10th straight start against a right-handed pitcher. He hasn’t started against a lefty since April 6th and is firmly in a platoon. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

  • José Buttó earns win for Mets in St. Louis
José Buttó allowed three runs in five innings against the Cardinals to earn the win on Tuesday.

Advice: Buttó was more gritty than good in this one. He gave up a lead-off home run to Brendan Donovan and two more runs in the first before settling down and willing his way through five innings. Command was an issue for Buttó in this one, as just 35% of his pitches were in the zone and he walked three with just three strikeouts. The Mets rotation is getting crowded with Christian Scott’s promotion and Tylor Megill, David Peterson, and Kodai Senga working back from injury. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

  • Miles Mikolas falls apart in fifth inning
Miles Mikolas surrendered six runs over four-plus innings in a loss to the Mets on Tuesday.

Advice: Mikolas cruised through the first four innings before the Mets jumped all over him for six hits and six earned runs to chase him before recording an out in the fifth. It was Mikolas’ second time facing the Mets in three starts and they were able to get to him. His ERA rose to 6.43. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

  • Expected to return Wednesday
The Red Sox are expected to reinstate Gonzalez (wrist) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Gonzalez has been on the injured list since April 13 due to a left wrist sprain, and he's gone 4-for-11 with three RBI since beginning a rehab assignment at Triple-A Worcester on Friday. Once activated, the 27-year-old infielder will presumably move into a reserve role behind Vaughn Grissom and Ceddanne Rafaela. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Tayler Saucedo suffers knee injury on play at first
Tayler Saucedo left Tuesday’s game in the eighth inning with a right knee injury.

Advice: Saucedo unfortunately slipped on first base while running to cover and trying to avoid a diving Austin Martin and was in a great deal of pain afterwards. He’ll surely land on the IL, which could lead to a promotion for Sammy Peralta. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago
